WNBA Picks
Happy 7/11 day! Everyone go get your free slurpee from 7/11 and enjoy some WNBA hoops and betting today – I know I’m going to. Minnesota came through for us yesterday, covering the 6.5-point spread, and the Mystics/Aces kept the game Under the total. So if you played that lean, you had a nice 2-0 day yesterday. We’ve got another doubleheader on deck for Friday. Unfortunately, no afternoon games, though, as Caitlin Clark and the Fever host Allisha Gray and the Atlanta Dream, while the Seattle Storm and Connecticut Sun will rematch from their game earlier this week.
Here are today’s projections from the T Shoe Index:
Indiana Fever (-2) vs. Atlanta Dream, O/U 167.5
Caitlin Clark returned to the Indiana lineup in the last game after battling a groin injury, but it didn’t matter for the Fever, as they got waxed by the pesky Golden State Valkyries to drop to just 9-10 on the season. Tonight, they’re taking on the 12-7 Dream, and the spread has bounced back and forth from -2 to -2.5 and back to -2, while the total skyrocketed from 161.5 to 167.5. TSI projects Atlanta -3.5 with a total of 165.5. I’m going to back the Dream here while the Fever try to figure themselves out, as they’ve been extremely inconsistent this year, understandable given Clark’s in-and-out status in the lineup. The Fever have actually been about 3 points worse at home than on the road this season and are just 5-8 ATS as favorites, while Atlanta is 5-3 ATS on the road and 4-2 ATS as an underdog.
WNBA Pick: Atlanta Dream +2 (Play to pick)
Seattle Storm (-18) vs. Connecticut Sun, O/U 157.5
Here’s where I’ll take my medicine and throw my hands up after giving out Seattle -17 the other night, only to watch them lose to this pathetic Sun team outright by 10. That was about as abhorrent a result as you’ll see. The line has already moved from Seattle -15.5 to -18, and the total has dropped substantially from 163.5 to 157.5. TSI projects Seattle -17.5 with a total of 161.5. I know the game this week sailed over the total, but I just cannot bring myself to bet the Sun over, especially after the offensive performance they had the other night. I find it hard to believe lightning is going to strike twice here. I’m staying away at current numbers, but technically the projections would lean Over here.
