WNBA Picks
There’s a chance our WNBA Finals matchup will be set after today, as the Las Vegas Aces look to close out the Indiana Fever on the road in Game 4, while series underdog Phoenix Mercury looks to close out title favorite Minnesota Lynx in Phoenix. Minnesota will be without head coach Cheryl Reeve, who is suspended for Game 4 following her actions on the court and post-game, following an injury to Napheesa Collier after Alyssa Thomas made contact with her when securing a steal. Collier will also miss the game as a result. Here are the TSI projections for Sunday’s Game 4s:
Indiana Fever vs. Las Vegas Aces (-4.5), O/U 159.5
After losing Game 1 at home, Vegas has stormed back and won back-to-back games to put themselves in position to close out this best-of-five series today in Indiana. The Aces are winning the series by an average of 7.3 points per game, with an average total of 158.5. For the season, Indiana has won two out of three at home against the Aces by a margin of 8.3 points per game. I think this Fever team is just out of gas now after making a shocking run without several of its key pieces. I think this is the end of the road for Stephanie White’s team. TSI projects Aces -6 with a total of 159. No bet for me here, but it would be Vegas or nothing.
WNBA Lean: Las Vegas Aces -4.5
Phoenix Mercury (-5.5) vs. Minnesota Lynx, O/U 155.5
As I mentioned, Minnesota is without its best player and head coach for this crucial game that could determine their season, and Phoenix has now won three out of five against the Lynx this season, but the point totals for each team have been almost identical, so obviously, the loss of Collier in the lineup is monstrous for Minnesota. TSI projects Phoenix -6.5 with a total of 155, so not much value, but I think it would have to be Mercury or nothing with so much stacked against Minnesota and so much momentum on the Mercury side.
WNBA Lean: Phoenix Mercury -5.5
