Great American Getaway 400

The “Tricky Triangle” of Pocono Raceway is next up for the NASCAR Cup Series drivers in the Great American Getaway 400. This is the lone stop of the year in Long Pond, PA, as we’re approaching the midway mark of the calendar. This is also the first of three odd tracks in a row, with the only triangle track on the circuit, followed by the Coronado Street Course stop and then the last road course of the season at Sonoma.

This is the 16th race of 36 for the Cup Series season, with the In-Season Challenge coming up after the Coronado race on June 21.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series Winners and Standings

The theme of repeat winners continued again last time out, as Denny Hamlin scored his third victory lap of the season. We still only have eight race winners now and Hamlin is the only driver with three. Tyler Reddick, who has not had much luck lately, leads the way with five. Chase Elliott is the other multiple winner, while Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs, Carson Hocevar, Shane van Gisbergen, and Daniel Suarez are the drivers with one win.

Reddick did win Stage 1 last week, but his lead is well under 100 points now after Hamlin has gained ground in each of the last two races. The lead is down to just 51 points, while Hamlin has extended his lead over the third-place driver to more than 100 points. Blaney, Elliott, and Gibbs fill out the top five, while Larson, Hocevar, Chris Buescher, Suarez, and Christopher Bell fill the top 10.

Wins no longer guarantee entry into the playoffs, so the top 16 in points will make up who is in contention for the Cup Series Chase, which begins on September 6.

Great American Getaway 400 Winners

Hamlin has had tremendous success at Michigan and he was the one to take the checkered flag there last week. In terms of Pocono, he’s had plenty of success there as well. He’s the only one among active drivers with multiple wins in his last 10 starts, as he’s picked up three of them. He also owns seven top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes in that span.

Sadly, the other multiple winner here among this year’s drivers was Kyle Busch, whose loss is still being felt across the world of racing.

Blaney, Alex Bowman, Chase Briscoe, and Elliott are the other four drivers with a win here over the last 10 races. Brad Keselowski hasn’t won here in that span, but he does have a couple top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes with the second-highest average finish at 8.9. Hamlin has the highest at 6.8.
