Viva Mexico 250:
For the first time in NASCAR history, there is a points race held outside of the United States. The Viva Mexico 250 at the Autodrome Hermanos Rodriguez is our first road course race since March 2 in Austin, Texas. Including this race, three of the next five races are either road or street course events. There was a four-year stretch for the NASCAR Xfinity Series from 2005-08.
This is the 16th race of 26 scheduled for the regular season and there are 36 total races on the books, including the Cup Championship Playoffs.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series Standings
No change at the top heading into Mexico City, as William Byron still leads the field with 576 points. He led the most laps and won Stage 2 last week, but finished 28th. Kyle Larson remains in second with 535 points after finishing fifth. Denny Hamlin catapulted into fourth place with his third win of the season. Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott round out the top five.
Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Joey Logano, and Bubba Wallace are the guys rounding out the top 10, with Chastain and Logano flipped from last week.
The race winners so far are Byron, Larson (3), Bell (3), Hamlin (3), Blaney, Chastain, Logano, Austin Cindric, and Josh Berry through 15 points races with 16 playoff spots in total up for grabs and nine taken by race winners as of now. That means some winners may not make it, if they don’t have enough points relative to other race winners.
Viva Mexico 250 Winners
This is the first Cup Series race in Mexico City. It probably doesn’t matter a whole lot nowadays, but the Xfinity Series winners from 2005-08 included Martin Truex Jr., Hamlin, and Kyle Busch.
As mentioned, this is a road course race and it will be 15 turns over 2.429 miles and 100 laps.
