On Saturday, July 20th, Jake Paul will fight Mike Perry at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida. Paul, who is 9-1 in his professional boxing career, was supposed to be fighting Mike Tyson. However, Tyson had an ulcer flare up and the fight had to be postponed. That match is now expected to take place in November. Paul probably could have waited around for his bout with Iron Mike, but the opportunity to fight Perry presented itself. Now, Paul is set to face another MMA fighter and he’s a sizable betting favorite to pick up his 10th victory. Of course, nothing is certain in this sport. Perry is going to feel like he has a puncher’s chance. Regardless, every time Paul enters the ring, it’s must-see television. So, this could be a pay-per-view that is worth buying, and betting on the fight will undoubtedly make it more enjoyable. That said, keep reading for Paul vs. Perry betting odds and predictions.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Prediction

When Paul decided to take this fight, he made it clear that he always wanted to fight in July. He also believes that fighting Perry will be good preparation for Tyson. Perry is 14-8 in his MMA career and has won 11 fights by knockout. The 32-year-old has also tried his hand in bare-knuckle boxing. Even as an MMA fighter, Perry has always been viewed as a brawler, so going toe to toe with Paul and exchanging blows won’t feel completely unnatural to him.

Of course, the fact that Paul has been boxing for so long gives him a massive edge, which is why he’s a big betting favorite here. We have already seen Paul bully some former MMA fighters. It’s just a completely different style of fighting. And it’d be somewhat surprising if Paul doesn’t get the better of Perry, too. However, it’s nearly impossible to get on board with backing Paul to win. Perhaps you can throw a Paul moneyline win into some three-leg parlays, but playing it on its own isn’t a good idea. With that in mind, I think the best thing you can do in this fight is bet on it to not go the distance.

You’re going to have to deal with some significant juice in order to make this bet, but it definitely feels worth it. These are two aggressive fighters and I don’t think either of them want to see this fight go a full eight rounds. So, it’d just be shocking if this match doesn’t end by knockout. Paul has won by KO in six of his 10 fights, so he’ll be looking to turn Perry’s lights out here. And if Perry were to somehow win this fight, it’s almost definitely going to come by him landing a big punch.

You can also go with Paul to win by KO/TKO at much shorter odds, but I think Perry deserves a little respect. While bare-knuckle boxing is completely different than fighting with gloves on, it’s at least big that he hasn’t been competing in MMA. He has been squaring up with other fighters and throwing strictly hands. That should give him a small shot at winning this, and it’s enough to make me prefer any knockout over only a Paul knockout.

Pick: Fight To Go The Distance? No (-196)
