Rutgers vs. Ohio State

12:00 PM Eastern

Ohio State entered Friday ranked 29th in the nation in points allowed per possession. Rutgers, ranked 43rd in possessions per game, has its stats skewed by matchups against two of last season’s fastest teams—Kennesaw State and Alabama—plus an overtime game against Notre Dame.

Pick: Rutgers vs. Ohio State Under 154 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 144.5)

Boston College vs. Wake Forest

12:00 PM Eastern

Wake Forest’s offense has struggled since the offseason departure of Kevin “Boopie” Miller, ranking 287th in points per possession. Boston College has been the stronger team on the boards, ranking 80th in rebounding percentage, while Wake Forest sits at 240th.

Pick: Boston College +10.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Boston College +7.5)

South Florida vs. Loyola Chicago

12:30 PM Eastern

Loyola Chicago faces free-throw difficulties, ranking 36th in the nation in home foul rate per possession and shooting just 67.4% from the line (276th in the country).

Pick: South Florida +9 (Greg’s Handicap: South Florida +7.5)

UT San Antonio vs. Arkansas

2:00 PM Eastern

UT San Antonio entered Friday ranked 44th in possessions per game on the road, but their defense ranked 272nd in points allowed per possession. Arkansas has been explosive, scoring 76+ points in five straight games.

Pick: UT San Antonio vs. Arkansas Over 155.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 162.5)

South Dakota vs. Northern Arizona

2:00 PM Eastern

South Dakota ranked 324th in points allowed per possession and struggles on the boards, sitting 267th in rebound percentage. Northern Arizona is 58th in rebounding, giving them an advantage here.

Pick: Northern Arizona +1.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Northern Arizona -4)

Wofford vs. Elon

7:00 PM Eastern

Wofford ranked 323rd in points allowed per possession in away games and gives up 33.1% of missed shots as offensive rebounds. Elon, ranked 51st in offensive rebound percentage, should exploit this weakness.

Pick: Elon +1 (Greg’s Handicap: Elon -5.5)

Indiana State vs. Missouri State

8:00 PM Eastern

Indiana State ranked 215th in points allowed per possession and faces a tough challenge against a Missouri State offense ranked 24th in 3-point shooting at 38.9%. Indiana State also struggles with turnovers, ranking 333rd in turnover percentage.

Pick: Missouri State -3 (Greg’s Handicap: Missouri State -8.5)

Villanova vs. Temple

4:30 PM Eastern

Villanova’s 3-point shooting drops significantly on the road, from 42.9% at home to just 31% in road and neutral court games. Temple, meanwhile, scores more per possession away from home and has comparable defensive efficiency to Villanova.

Pick: Temple +10 (Greg’s Handicap: Temple +6)

Vermont vs. Yale

2:00 PM Eastern

Vermont ranks 308th in points scored per possession and 344th in total possessions per game, setting the stage for a slow, low-scoring game.

Pick: Vermont vs. Yale Under 136.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 131.5)

Stephen F. Austin vs. Texas A&M CC

4:30 PM Eastern

Stephen F. Austin struggles with ball security, committing turnovers on 25.4% of possessions (3rd worst in D-I). Texas A&M CC, meanwhile, ranks 86th in turnovers forced and is shooting 40.3% from 3-point range at home.

Pick: Texas A&M CC -3.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Texas A&M CC -7.5)

Central Arkansas vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff

7:00 PM Eastern

Both teams’ defenses have been porous, with Arkansas Pine Bluff ranked dead last in points allowed per possession and allowing 42.7% of offensive rebounds. Central Arkansas is similarly weak, ranking 270th or worse in defensive rebound percentage and points allowed per possession.

Pick: Central Arkansas vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff Over 152 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 158.5)
