6:00 PM Eastern

New Haven Chargers vs. UMass Lowell River Hawks

UMass Lowell is coming off a 110–47 beatdown at the hands of Connecticut on Friday but has a great bounce-back opportunity against a New Haven team that has virtually no Division I experience on the roster. The Chargers went 12–17 at the Division II level last season and lost four of their top five scorers from that team without adding any experienced Division I players through the transfer portal. They’ve already suffered two losses in the past four days — 71–53 to Columbia and 87–43 to Penn State.

Picks: UMass Lowell -10.5 and Under 146 (Greg’s Handicap: UMass Lowell -17.5, Total 139.5)

7:00 PM Eastern

UNC Wilmington Seahawks vs. Kent State Golden Flashes

Kent State is somewhat improved in the jump-shooting department, but not enough to dramatically change a unit that shot just 31.2% from 3-point range last season, ranking 313th nationally. The Golden Flashes were 53rd in points per possession allowed on defense, while UNC Wilmington ranked 65th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage on the road and plays at a controlled pace, finishing 253rd in possessions per game last season.

Pick: Under 163.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 146.5)

Presbyterian Blue Hose vs. Georgia State Panthers

While Georgia State lost to Cincinnati 74–64, they showed great fight and return two main guards from last season — Jelani Hamilton and Malachi Brown — to uplift an offense that ranked 177th in points per possession. Presbyterian, meanwhile, gets a clean bill of health for big man Jonah Pierce, whose season was limited to eight games last year due to injury. However, the Blue Hose lost their top two scoring guards from a team that ranked 65th in 3-point shooting percentage.

Picks: Georgia State -3 and Over 137.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Georgia State -10, Total 148)

Stetson Hatters vs. Miami Hurricanes

Stetson has ranked 200th or slower in total possessions per game in three of the past four seasons and should improve on the glass with Loyola Marymount big man Matar Diop joining the program. He bolsters a team that ranked 341st in overall rebound percentage last year. Miami added plenty of size with TCU’s Ernest Udeh and Indiana’s Malik Reneau joining first-year coach Jai Lucas’ squad, which has earned two convincing wins to start the season but may use this game to refine its backcourt rotation.

Picks: Stetson +31 and Under 163 (Greg’s Handicap: Stetson +25.5, Total 153.5)

South Carolina State Bulldogs vs. North Carolina A&T Aggies

South Carolina State must replace its top seven scorers from last season and has looked very disjointed on offense in its first two games, scoring just 117 total points. North Carolina A&T, meanwhile, suspended three of its top scorers toward the end of last season, giving returning players valuable experience. The Aggies’ offensive system emphasizes clean possessions, ranking in the top 54 nationally in fewest turnovers per possession in each of the past two seasons. South Carolina State is still trying to figure out its primary point guard.

Picks: North Carolina A&T -2 and Under 159 (Greg’s Handicap: North Carolina A&T -6, Total 154)

8:00 PM Eastern

Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Iowa State Cyclones

Mississippi State has struggled with 3-point shooting in every season under coach Chris Jans, ranking 270th or worse in that category each year. Iowa State remains one of the nation’s most defensive-minded teams, ranking top 16 in both points per possession allowed and turnovers forced per possession. With Tamin Lipsey back at point guard, expect the Cyclones to continue generating turnovers.

Picks: Iowa State -4.5 and Under 151.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Iowa State -7.5, Total 145.5)

Lindenwood Lions vs. Saint Louis Billikens

Saint Louis has looked strong offensively with 200 combined points across its first two games, but may be slowed by a Lindenwood team that returns significant production. The Lions ranked 63rd nationally in turnovers per possession but were dead last out of 364 Division I teams in 3-point shooting at 26.7%.

Pick: Under 164.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 156.5)

Little Rock Trojans vs. UW Milwaukee Panthers

For a second straight season, Little Rock will be without guard KK Robinson, whose return was expected to jumpstart an offense that ranked 311th in points per possession last year. UW Milwaukee is coming off an 86–76 loss to Wofford but continues to show great promise on the glass despite losing Jamichael Stillwell in the transfer portal. Four different players have recorded at least 11 rebounds through the first two games after the team ranked fourth nationally in rebound percentage last season.

Picks: UW Milwaukee -1.5 and Under 159.5 (Greg’s Handicap: UW Milwaukee -6, Total 146)

8:30 PM Eastern

Cleveland State Vikings vs. Northwestern Wildcats

Northwestern’s defense has been outstanding through two games, holding both Mercyhurst and Boston University to 52 points or fewer. The Wildcats’ guard rotation is still gelling, though, and this matchup against a much-improved Cleveland State squad under new coach Rob Summers will be a test. The Vikings, who ranked 311th in defensive rebound percentage last season, have looked better on the glass early thanks to former Akron and West Virginia forward Josiah Harris.

Picks: Cleveland State +20.5 and Under 147.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Cleveland State +14.5, Total 144.5)

Santa Clara Broncos vs. Xavier Musketeers

Under first-year coach Richard Pitino, Xavier appears committed to building around defense after Pitino’s New Mexico team ranked 11th in points per possession a season ago. The Musketeers have struggled offensively while integrating several double-figure scorers from mid-majors. Santa Clara, meanwhile, held McNeese to 67 points for its first Division I win of the season but has struggled at the free-throw line, going just 18-for-32 to start the year. This matchup has the makings of a physical, grind-it-out game.

Pick: Under 156.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 154)

9:30 PM Eastern

St. Thomas Tommies vs. Washington State Cougars

St. Thomas may struggle with Washington State’s size after ranking 339th in rebound percentage last season. The Cougars’ main weakness is turnovers — they ranked 338th in turnovers per possession — but the Tommies lost their top three guards from last year, weakening an offense that ranked 10th nationally in points per possession.

Pick: Washington State -2.5 (Greg’s Handicap: Washington State -6.5)
