Long Island vs. Air Force
4:00 PM ET
Air Force’s leading returning scorer Beau Becker did not play in the team’s last game against Jacksonville State after suffering an injury on opening night against North Alabama, a game in which the team lost 73-57 at home. With addition of Chicago State coach Gerald Gillion to the Long Island coaching staff and bringing some of his Chicago State guards with him from a unit that ranked 13th in steals forced per possession last season, it will make Becker’s injury all the more impactful.
Long Island +10.5 (Greg’s Handicap Air Force +7.5)
Eastern Washington vs. Missouri
7:00 PM ET
In Dennis Gates’ first two seasons at Missouri, the team has ranked 358th and 345th respectively in rebound percentage and faces an Eastern Washington team that had a coaching change in the offseason. Former Long Beach State coach Dan Monson is building off of a team that ranked 29th in 3-point shooting percentage at 36.8% last season. They’re shooting that same 36.8% from 3-point range in the first two games this season.
Eastern Washington +19.5 (Greg’s Handicap Eastern Washington +14)
St. Peter’s vs. Rutgers
7:00 PM ET
Rutgers is dealing with an injury to consensus top-five freshman recruit Ace Bailey, who missed the team’s season opener against Wagner. If he plays at all in this game, expect him to be limited. Rutgers has the task of facing a St. Peter’s team that lost their top four scorers from a season ago, but is a team built around defense, ranking 14th in points allowed on a per possession basis last season.
St. Peter’s +16 (Greg’s Handicap St. Peter’s +12)
Grambling vs. Florida
7:00 PM ET
Grambling very nearly got an SEC road win last week when they lost to Ole Miss 66-64 and now faces a Florida that has played without 7-foot-9 Oliver Rioux and international guard Urban Klavzar the first two games of the season, as Klavzar has yet to be cleared to play by the NCAA. Florida was 216th in points allowed on a per possession basis last season and since the end of the 2023-24 season has surrendered at least 79 points in nine of their last 10 games.
Grambling +23.5 (Greg’s Handicap Grambling +17)
McNeese vs. Alabama
7:00 PM ET
While McNeese suffered a surprising loss as a favorite opening night against South Dakota State, the team brought back many key pieces from a team that was in the top 20 last season in both points scored and points allowed on a per possession basis. Guard Omar Cooper missed that opening game, but returned in their game against non Division I Biblical Studies with 13 assists and just one turnover. Alabama is also coming off of a scare against a fiesty Arkansas State team in the Sun Belt, winning that game by single digits 88-79.
McNeese +20.5 (Greg’s Handicap McNeese +13.5)
