12:00 PM Eastern

Norfolk State Spartans vs. Baylor Bears

Norfolk State has struggled on offense, ranking 337th in points per possession while also playing at one of the slowest tempos in the nation, ranking 301st in total possessions per game. Baylor is 100th in possessions per game but faces a Norfolk State defense that ranks 82nd in points per possession allowed away from home and forces teams into perimeter play, with opponents taking 47% of their shots from 3-point range — the 29th-highest rate nationally. Norfolk State is also sixth in 3-point shooting percentage defense at 25.7%.

Pick: Under 146.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 140)

7:00 PM Eastern

Idaho Vandals vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Both teams have been strong at preventing second chances, with Idaho ranking 15th in defensive rebound percentage and Notre Dame ranking fourth, allowing opponents to grab only 20.9% of their missed shots as an offensive rebound. However, Idaho is 236th in points per possession allowed and gives up 35.6% 3-point shooting away from home. Notre Dame is 83rd in overall 3-point shooting at 35.9%, which climbs to 39.6% at home while also taking the 42nd-highest percentage of 3-point shots at home (48.4%).

Pick: Notre Dame -11 (Greg’s Handicap Notre Dame -16.5)

VCU Rams vs. New Mexico Lobos

Both teams generate turnovers well, with New Mexico 28th and VCU 82nd in turnovers forced per possession. New Mexico is also defending the 3-point line effectively, allowing just 30.6% shooting from deep, which ranks 86th nationally. VCU has struggled with the basics, sitting 145th in 2-point shooting percentage and 187th in turnovers per possession.

Picks: New Mexico +10 and Under 155.5 (Greg’s Handicap New Mexico +7 and Total 149)

New Haven Chargers vs. NJIT Highlanders

Both offenses are struggling — New Haven ranks 353rd in points per possession, and NJIT is 347th. NJIT should have the edge inside, ranking 45th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage at home. New Haven is 297th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage (36.6%), which helps an NJIT team that takes 48.6% of its shots from deep, the 32nd-highest rate in the country.

Pick: NJIT +2 (Greg’s Handicap NJIT -6)

Charleston Cougars vs. South Florida Bulls

Charleston has slowed its pace to 273rd in possessions per game, partly due to early-season injuries, but the team has sped up since Connor Hickman returned. Their 28.9% 3-point shooting should improve against a South Florida defense that ranks 276th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage at 36.1%. South Florida’s offense is 67th in points per possession at home and plays very fast, ranking fifth nationally in total possessions per game.

Pick: Over 154.5 (Greg’s Handicapped Total 166.5)

Bryant Bears vs. Iona Gaels

Bryant has struggled with turnovers, ranking 317th in turnovers per possession, and they also aren’t generating turnovers (331st) while struggling on the boards (300th in rebound percentage). Iona is 125th in points per possession on offense and 39th in opponents’ 3-point shooting percentage at 29%.

Pick: Iona -10 (Greg’s Handicap Iona -16.5)

8:00 PM Eastern

UT Martin Skyhawks vs. Southern Illinois Salukis

UT Martin struggles with ball security, ranking 353rd in turnovers per possession on offense, but should hold down a Southern Illinois team that ranks 340th in 3-point shooting at 27.4%. UT Martin is strong defensively, ranking 97th in points per possession allowed and 37th in opponent 3-point shooting at 28.9%.

Pick: UT Martin +10.5 (Greg’s Handicap UT Martin +5.5)

Weber State Wildcats vs. Kansas City Kangaroos

Kansas City is 93rd in possessions per game overall, but after being 322nd last season, they’re trending back toward a slower pace over the last four games. The offense has been an issue, ranking 346th in points per possession. They’re also at a disadvantage from deep, ranking 272nd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage and 363rd in 3-point shooting percentage on offense (23.6%). Weber State has a major edge on the boards, with Kansas City 345th and Weber State 80th.

Picks: Weber State -4.5 and Under 150 (Greg’s Handicap Weber State -6.5 and Total 142.5)

8:30 PM Eastern

Southern Jaguars vs. Texas State Bobcats

Southern is playing its second game in three days and is struggling defensively, ranking 341st in points per possession allowed and 309th in defensive rebound percentage, with opponents collecting 33.8% of their missed shots. Texas State is strong inside, ranking 56th in rebound percentage and leading the nation in percentage of shots taken inside the arc at 76.7%. Southern is 218th in opponent 2-point shooting percentage.

Picks: Texas State -2.5 and Over 137.5 (Greg’s Handicap Texas State -6.5 and Total 142.5)

9:00 PM Eastern

Duquesne Dukes vs. Boise State Broncos

Duquesne has sped up significantly, ranking 25th in possessions per game, while Boise State plays slower at 229th. Duquesne games feature lots of dead possessions: they are 14th in turnovers forced per possession on defense away from home but 352nd in taking care of the ball on the road. Boise State is elite on the glass, ranking third nationally in defensive rebound percentage, but only 154th in points per possession on offense.

Picks: Duquesne +14.5 and Under 150.5 (Greg’s Handicap Duquesne +9.5 and Total 143.5)

Idaho State Bengals vs. Utah Valley Wolverines

Utah Valley has had trouble generating clean possessions, ranking 335th in turnovers per possession, but they’ve been solid defensively at 54th in points per possession allowed. Idaho State plays extremely slow, ranking 335th in total possessions per game, and has been strong away from home defensively, ranking 62nd in points per possession allowed.

Picks: Idaho State +11.5 and Under 143.5 (Greg’s Handicap Idaho State +5 and Total 139)

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Wisconsin is 36th in points per possession on offense overall but drops to 162nd away from home. Nebraska, meanwhile, averages 8.4 points more per 100 possessions away from home than at home. Their defense is elite, ranking 28th overall in points per possession allowed and 21st at home, while also preventing free throws — fourth nationally in opponent free throw attempts per possession. That’s significant against a Wisconsin team ranking 10th in free throw percentage (80.1%).

Picks: Nebraska +1.5 and Under 159.5 (Greg’s Handicap Nebraska -2 and Total 154)
