Clemson Tigers at Syracuse Orange – 12:00 pm ET

Syracuse comes into this game having won back-to-back games, including one impressive one over SMU last week. The Orange have also covered in four consecutive contests. Syracuse has been hit with a ton of adversity this season, but this team hasn’t quit on Fran Brown. If anything, the group has completely leveled up. Syracuse now has a chance to come away with a massive home victory, as a wounded — and underwhelming — Clemson team heads to the JMA Wireless Dome.

The Tigers are an abysmal offensive team this year, and that will only look worse with Gideon Davidson out. He’s one of the most talented players for a bad Clemson offense, and it’s going to be difficult for the Tigers to move the ball against the Orange in a difficult road atmosphere.

Dabo Swinney has had his struggles playing at Syracuse before, and it’s just hard not to feel like another loss is coming. His team is beaten up, and you have to imagine the Orange will be the more motivated group here.

Bet: Syracuse ML (+120)

Oregon Ducks at Ohio State Buckeyes – 3:30 pm ET

This game doesn’t have the buzz it would have had two months ago, but it’s still pretty damn important. Both teams still have the ability to put together College Football Playoff-worthy resumes, but it’ll take a win in a high-profile game like this one.

Oregon is the team I trust more with the spread. We just saw Ohio State quarterback Luke Fahey struggle to put points on the board against a mediocre USC defense, and he’ll now need to try and produce against an Oregon team which is fifth in the country in Adjusted EPA/Play Allowed (-0.24). I just don’t trust him to do that, even with Jeremiah Smith to throw to.

I also liked what I saw out of the Ducks offense last week. After having made a change at offensive coordinator, we saw Oregon put up 34 in a win over Northwestern. In that game, Dylan Raiola threw for 336 yards with three touchdowns and no picks.

It just doesn’t make much sense to see Ohio State as a favorite of more than a touchdown. The Buckeyes we’ll see in Week 10 are nothing like the Buckeyes we thought we’d see before the year.

Bet: Oregon +8 (-110)

Iowa Hawkeyes at Northwestern Wildcats – 7:30 pm ET

A lot of people are starting to talk about Iowa as a potential College Football Playoff team, but earning a road win over Northwestern is going to be incredibly difficult. This Hawkeyes team is just 68th in the nation in Adjusted EPA/Play (-0.01) and 90th in Net EPA/Play (0.01). Of course, Hank Brown has had his moments this year, and he just played a very clean game (222 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT) in a win over Wisconsin. However, it’s still hard to fully buy into Iowa finding ways to consistently move the ball, and this is the type of game that could call for that.

While Iowa is 12th in the nation in Adjusted EPA/Play Allowed (-0.18), I’m not sure there’s such a thing as completely shutting down this Northwestern offense. The Wildcats are No. 3 in college football in Adjusted EPA/Play (0.20), and they just had 456 yards of total offense in a road game against an Oregon team which currently sits at No. 5 in Adjusted EPA/Play Allowed (-0.24). Aidan Chiles hasn’t been perfect for Northwestern this season, but he’s enough of a threat to take advantage of a highly productive running game — and that’s a part of the offense he contributes to as well.

It’s just pretty easy to imagine offensive coordinator Chip Kelly putting together a great game plan to attack the Hawkeyes defense, and I’m not sure I see the road team doing enough offensively to keep up.

Northwestern also happens to be 4-1 straight-up when returning home after a road loss under David Braun, and the average score in such game is Wildcats 34.7, Opponent 21.5.

Bet: Northwestern ML (-127)
