Biltmore Championship Asheville Best Bets and Golf Odds:
The FedExCup Fall begins this week at the inaugural Biltmore Championship in Asheville, N.C. Across the next 10 weeks, the final eight events on the PGA Tour calendar will determine who remains a Tour member in 2027 and who is relegated to the Korn Ferry Tour.
This week also gives some players a chance to tune up before next week’s Presidents Cup, featuring the United States team versus the International (non-Europe) team. Two American rookies, Jackson Koivun (14-1) and Jacob Bridgeman (20-1), will play this week along with five members of the International Team — Canada’s Corey Conners (30-1) and Nick Taylor (60-1), Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune (40-1), South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout (50-1) and Colombia’s Nico Echavarria (70-1) along with Canada’s Taylor Pendrith (65-1), an assistant captain for the Internationals.
Most, if not all the players in this week’s field are playing either to make the Aon Next 10 (51-60 in the FedExCup points), which earns spots into all Signature Events next season, or to be inside the top 100 and ensure full-time status for 2027 on the PGA Tour.
Doug Ghim, Benjamin James and Davis Thompson all follow on the odds board at 28-1. Like Ghim and James, Rasmus Højgaard (33-1) also seeks his first PGA Tour victory.
J.T. Poston, the winner of The Memorial Tournament in May, is a native North Carolinian and is 33-1.

The Course
The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a very different test from the typical PGA Tour venue. The Jack Nicklaus Signature course opened in 2005, and it sits in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains at more than 2,000 feet of elevation, with the surrounding ridges creating a natural element. The course is routed through the natural contours of the property, which produces rolling fairways, elevation changes and long views of the Southern Appalachians.
The layout plays as a par-71 of 7,249 yards with numerous elevation changes and different terrain that gives players the option to play different angles into the smaller greens.
The fairways and tees are Bentgrass, the greens are a Bentgrass/Poa annua blend and the rough is Kentucky bluegrass that has been grown out to close to six inches.
Water is in play on seven holes, and there are several forced carries. Bunkering also plays a pivotal part of the layout, with 75 in all, with plenty of them surrounding tee shot landing areas.
Walnut Cove has an unusual par distribution, with five par-3s, nine par-4s and four par-5s.

Weather
The Asheville area has received a great deal of rain this summer in the lead-up to the event, and rain is expected throughout the tournament.

Ben James (25-1, Caesars Sportsbook)
We have seen young guns like Jackson Koivun win early on the PGA Tour, and James could be the next one.
James earned his PGA Tour card through PGA Tour U earlier this spring after concluding his collegiate career at the University of Virginia, where he was a four-time All-American.
He has already had a close call for victory with a third-place finish last month at the Wyndham Championship.
Davis Thompson (28-1, Bet365)
Thompson posted six top-14 finishes on the PGA Tour in 2026, three of them coming in his last three events of the year, including at the Wyndham Championship also in North Carolina.
He has ranked ninth, 31st and first in Strokes Gained: Approach in his last three starts and third, 36th and first in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green in those three starts.
Jackson Suber (45-1, Caesars Sportsbook)
Suber posted three top-6 finishes on the PGA Tour this season and is 79th in the FedExCup standings, so he is a good bet to keep his card for next season.
He ranks top 8 on the PGA Tour for Greens In Regulation and Proximity to the Hole, so he has been sharp with the irons all year.
Billy Horschel (60-1, Circa Sports)
Horschel is a two-time winner of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth and could be in that field this week, but he is here in Asheville due to ranking on the bubble spot (No. 100) to keep full PGA Tour status and needs to perform well in the FedExCup Fall.
He has missed seven of his last 10 cuts but has career success on Nicklaus designs, including a victory at the 2022 Memorial Tournament.
Ben Kohles (60-1, DraftKings)
Kohles is currently playing two tour schedules in order to get his PGA Tour card for 2027. He ranks 17th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list (top 20 get cards) and is 96th in the FedExCup standings (top 100 get cards). The latter route is obviously preferred as that ensures full status.
He had a near-maiden PGA Tour victory at the John Deere Classic in July before finding that water on the 72nd hole with a share of the lead and finishing third.
Dating to his victory in May at the BMW Charity Pro-Am on the Korn Ferry Tour, Kohles has made 12 consecutive cuts and has finished outside the top 30 in any event just once during that stretch, so the consistency has certainly been there.
Davis Chatfield (165-1, DraftKings)
Chatfield made five of his last six cuts to finish the PGA Tour regular season and rose to No. 130 in the point standings to give himself a shot to maintain his card with a strong fall campaign.
He finished runner-up in North Carolina at the UNC Health Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour, and was also 25th at the Wyndham Championship.
