80k Optional Claiming, Saratoga, Race #7
Let’s go price hunting with #7 Candytown. This Pletcher trainee has won over the track and took a huge jump forward from start one to start two last year. He is following the same pattern here with 2nd off the layoff in his four-year-old season. The favorite is weak, coming off a 500-day layoff, and there will be pace to set up a stalking trip.
#4 Yinzer is one of two logical speed horses and was on the uptick throughout his three-year-old season. If you see an improvement and he clears the 1 here, he’s going to be dangerous.
#3 Walley World ships north for Saffie Joseph and should sit a perfect trip in this spot. He’s got numbers that fit from multiple races, including a spin around this course last August. Walley will get first run on Candytown and Yinzer; if he can get by, he will be tough.
#1 Starship Titan is the other speed, and he’s got the rail. He’s run well at Saratoga before, and if he can win the race to the turn, then he is live.

Let’s shoot for back-to-back 8-1 winners with #5 Mission Improbable. He debuted turf sprinting as a two-year-old and finally got back to business in June and landed in the winner’s circle. Now he’s going for two in a row against a crew that is less than impressive and loaded up with speed. Expect him to be rolling late.
#2 Bosun is two-for-two over the Saratoga turf, romping twice at last year’s meet. He has not been able to replicate those efforts since, but Saratoga has always been a place where horses who run well once run well again.
#9 No Evidence picks up Prat while trying to get back in form after a couple of dull efforts. He’s got enough speed to sit close early and then fire turning for home; he’s worth a shot at a price.
#4 Cuando is most likely the speed of the speed here. That’s been a dangerous trait turf sprinting at Saratoga. If he gets loose early, then he could be tough late.
