Haskell, Monmouth, Race #12

Some of our favorites are back in action when three-year-olds bang heads in the Haskell. Preakness winner #6 Napoleon Solo will try to win a third Grade 1 race and will be on the engine from the jump. He’s going to have pace pressure to his inside, but on a speed-favoring track, he could go gate to wire.

I’m still going to go with #4 The Puma on the return here. He’s the best price of the major contenders and gets the best setup. With as many as four horses looking for the lead, The Puma’s style should fit wonderfully.

#2 Further Ado is another one of those pace players. He was able to win from off the pace in the Blue Grass, but that was against a weaker field and in Kentucky, where all four of his wins have come from.

We will throw forever maiden #7 Ocelli in fourth. He once again is not good enough to win, but has a high chance or running in the top 4.

Top 4: 4-6-2-7
The Bets: $50 Win #4

$115k Maiden Special Weight, Saratoga, Race #9

Let’s go price hunting with #5 Mo the Merrier, who is cutting back to seven furlongs after coming off the bench at a mile, and that should make all the difference in the world here. He ran well first off the bench, but with a lot of sprint speed signed on and aggressive jock Elliott aboard he will sit a good trip and have the stamina turning for home.

#3 Stimulate returns to the races after over a year off and has been working lights out for this debut. He’s bred to have no issues with the distance, although he may be better going longer, and came out of a productive race last year. If he’s ready, he’ll be tough.

#10 Noble Edition hits the track for the second time for trainer Brad Cox. He whiffed on the break last time and came running. He will need to break better today, but the talent is there.

#9 Gadget Play has a similar resume as the 10, just with worse connections. He’s another logical one in this wide open race.

Top 4: 5-3-10-9
The Bets: $50 Win #5
