1/ST BET Horse Racing Predictions:

We are excited to announce a renewed partnership with the fine folks and handicappers at 1/ST BET. Jeremy Plonk and Jeff Siegel will be sharing their expertise Wednesday-Sunday on a weekly basis to pass along some ponies that they like for races at various tracks around the country.

For this Wednesday, September 11 article, we’ve got “Plonk’s Picks” for racing at Kentucky Downs.

Kentucky Downs | Race 2 | 1:57 pm ET

#11 Unhidden Gem (4-1 morning line odds)

Horses exiting races at Saratoga have won at more than double the win percentage of those from Ellis Park at this Kentucky Downs season, and this Saratoga alum raced in traffic from the rail in his one and only start. Should find clear sailing with an outside start Wednesday and a notable rider change to Brian Hernandez Jr. should suit. Runners adding distance from their most recent start have owned the races at 6-1/2 furlongs this season at Kentucky Downs, another feather in his cap. Win bet.

Kentucky Downs | Race 5 | 3:34 pm ET

#9 County Final (10-1 morning line odds)

The unique layout and footing at Kentucky Downs makes it one of the most influential horse-for-course locales in American racing. As poorly as County Final has run in recent races, you can’t help but look at his blowout, four-length win and career-best effort over this course a year ago and see a potential wakeup at a price. Trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.’s three winners at the meet have paid $14, $17 and $18 and he’s been a flat-bet 9% profit lifetime at this track from more than 100 starters. Win-place bet.
