The $150,000 Presque Isle Mile Stakes runs through the favorite #8 Forever Souper (2-1 morning line). He won the local prep race with ease by employing a stalking style that will be beautifully suited in this race Friday. There should be a few early speed horses to set the table, and expect the potent Presque Isle combo of jockey Antonio Gallardo and trainer Mike Trombetta to take every advantage given to them. The Grade 2 $300,000 Presque Isle Masters Stakes should have a solid public choice in Roses for Debra, who began her career locally before finding success across bigger venues nationally. But she’s not been as effective of late (1 for her last 5 after starting her career 7-for-9). I’ll try to beat her with #6 Nice As Pie (5-1 morning line). She was visually incredible finishing races at Turfway Park on the synthetic earlier in the year and gets back to a synthetic surface while fresh and dangerous. Win bet #6.
