Wednesday Betting Recaps

Wednesday was your normal hump day in the middle of the dog days of summer with a full MLB schedule (though just 14 games as Blue Jays-White Sox was postponed).

However, it wasn’t much of a “dog day” as favorites dominated at 10-4 and three of the dogs were at +110 or less on the money line (Phillies +110 in 8-4 win at Rays), Orioles (-101 in 6-3 win at Yankees) and Red Sox (-103 in 4-2 win vs. Rangers).
Let’s get to our regular daily recaps of the MLB betting action, and then update the season-long betting stats.

MLB: Favorites went 10-4 on Wednesday with the biggest upset by the A’s (+195 in 12-3 rout at the Tigers). Home/road teams split 7-7 on the day while Over/Unders also split 6-6-2 with pushes in the Orioles’ 6-3 win at the Yankees with a betting total of 9 runs and the Padres’ 5-3 win vs. the Angels with a betting total of 8 runs.

More MLB: On the season, faves lead 724-530 with 21 games closing pick-’em. Home teams have been slipping a little lately but still lead 667-618 with 4 neutral-site games. Over/Unders are still dead-even at .500  at 617-617-54 with 1 no-action.
