Saturday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Saturday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Trey Yesavage Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-122) vs. Reds
Reds at Blue Jays – 3:07 pm ET
Our OptaAI player prop pages have a play for Yesavage that I listed below, and I’m going with a different one for him. I like the righty to finish with at least four strikeouts against the Reds. Yesavage might not throw many pitches in this game, but the Reds have the highest strikeout rate in MLB. That should allow him to do some decent work in the K column, and he did have six strikeouts against Cincinnati back on May 3.
Dustin May Over 2.5 Strikeouts (-150) vs. Cardinals
Cardinals at Brewers – 7:10 pm ET
May had at least four strikeouts in four consecutive starts before having only two in his last outing, and he’s also averaging 4.7 strikeouts per game this season. Well, his matchup this evening is incredibly tough from a strikeout standpoint, but I’m not turning this down. A total of 2.5 is just incredibly low for someone who consistently goes way bigger. In 29 starts this season, May has only had fewer than three strikeouts nine times. Some of those were due to injury.
Taylor Trammell Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+118) vs. Athletics
Astros at Athletics – 9:40 pm ET
Trammell isn’t a reliable hitter for Houston, but he’s a lefty bat going up against a righty in what’s supposed to be a high-scoring game. So, I’m going to take a flier on him to go Over 1.5 HRR. He’s actually averaging 1.5 HRR per game when facing righties in games with totals of at least 9, and this one has a total of 9.5.
