Sunday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Sunday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Peter Lambert Over 2.5 Strikeouts (+118) vs. Athletics
Astros at Athletics – 3:05 pm ET
Lambert hasn’t had a start this season in which he has failed to reach the three-strikeout mark. He’s also coming off a six-strikeout outing against this Athletics team on September 24. Of course, that means Lambert will be going on two days of rest, so his leash probably won’t be very long. However, this is a must-win game for Houston, and Lambert has a strong matchup from a strikeout standpoint. I’ll take my chances with him hitting this.
River Ryan Over 2.5 Strikeouts (-112 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 4+ (+240 – 0.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 5+ (+600 – 0.25 units) vs. Pirates
Pirates at Tigers – 3:10 pm ET
Ryan had three strikeouts in his Tigers debut, and I feel really good about him doing that again here. The Pirates are a miserable team when it comes to avoiding Ks, and I like Ryan’s stuff enough to take advantage of that. In fact, I’m laddering this up to five, as it’s actually a much stronger matchup than he had against the Nationals.
Connor Norby Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+112) vs. White Sox
Rockies at White Sox – 3:10 pm ET
Over the last 15 games, Norby is averaging 1.7 HRR per game against left-handed pitching. Well, Anthony Kay will be on the mound for the White Sox, and this is a game that could lean a little higher in scoring. So, I’ll take my chances with Norby, who should have a good spot in the lineup.
