In the meantime, let’s examine where smart money is leaning for Tuesday’s MLB slate…

6:40 p.m. ET: Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays (-180, 8)

The Orioles (44-27) just dropped two of three at the Cubs but were able to win Sunday’s series finale 6-3, cashing as -105 road dogs. Meanwhile, the Rays (51-24) just dropped two of three at the Padres, losing the finale 5-4 as +135 road dogs. In tonight’s series opener, Baltimore starts righty Kyle Bradish (2-3, 3.90 ERA) and Tampa Bay goes with fellow righty Tyler Glasnow (2-0, 3.43 ERA). This line opened with the Rays listed as a -165 home favorite and the Orioles a +150 road dog. Sharps have gotten down hard on the Rays to get back on track at home, steaming Tampa Bay up from -165 to -180. The Rays are receiving 77% of bets and 80% of money, indicating both public and sharp support. When both teams are coming off a day off, as is the case here, the favorite is 63-35 (64%) this season, producing a 6% ROI. The Rays are 46-18 as a favorite, 40-20 against righties and 31-7 at home, the best home record in MLB. Bradish has a 4.60 ERA on the road (compared to 3.14 at home). Tampa Bay also has correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (8), as the fewer amount of expected runs scored are more likely to come from the better team.

8:10 p.m. ET: Texas Rangers (-125, 8) at Chicago White Sox

The Rangers (45-27) won Monday night’s series opener 5-2, taking care of business at -135 road favorites. In tonight’s rematch, Texas hands the ball to righty Nathan Eovaldi (9-3, 2.59 ERA) and the White Sox (31-43) counter with fellow righty Dylan Cease (3-3, 4.31 ERA). This line opened with the Rangers listed as a -120 road favorite and the White Sox a +110 home dog. Pros have pounced on Texas laying a short chalk price, steaming the Rangers up from -120 to -125. Texas is receiving 87% of bets and 96% of money, signaling a heavy combination of both Pro and Joe support. Non-division road favorites are 106-64 (62%) this season, producing a 12% ROI. The Rangers have a big edge at the plate, hitting .273 compared to .235 for the White Sox. Texas has scored 439 runs versus 301 for Chicago. The Rangers are 31-19 against righties, 29-14 as a favorite and 21-14 on the road. The White Sox are 24-33 against righties, 13-29 as a dog and 17-18 at home. Eovaldi has a 1.98 ERA in eight road starts.
