Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction:

The Los Angeles Dodgers will be in the 2024 MLB Postseason, but their seeding has yet to be determined. They look to improve their standing when they face the Colorado Rockies at home on Saturday.

The Dodgers give Walker Buehler the start at pitcher, who has struggled to a 5.54 ERA with at least three runs allowed in 11 of his 14 starts this season.

Top MLB Resources:

With 2.1 home runs and 3.6 walks per nine innings allowed, Buehler’s 5.90 fielding independent is even higher than his ERA. Despite that, the Dodgers are 8-3 in Buehler’s last 10 starts, thanks to how explosive their offense has been.

Since the All-Star Break, the Dodgers are second in the league in offense with over 5.5 runs per game, leading the Nationals League with nearly 1.6 home runs per game during that span.

Cal Quantrill starts for the Rockies. Quantrill has a 4.67 ERA with just 6.7 strikeouts per nine innings while issuing four walks per nine innings. In his four starts since two weeks out of the rotation in August, he has a 5.50 ERA with 1.5 home runs and 7.5 walks per nine innings.

Quantrill has struggled on the road all season, posting a 4.99 ERA with 1.3 home runs per nine innings allowed. He is backed up by a bullpen whose 5.30 ERA this season is more than a half-point worse than any other in the league. The next-worst team owning a 4.79 ERA in their bullpen this season.

Since July 1, the Dodgers bullpen ranks 18th with a 4.41 ERA. With the struggles across the board from the pitchers in this game, it will lead to a high scoring game on Saturday.
