Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Monday, August 21st:

San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies (-142, 8.5)

Aaron Nola is coming off a seven-strikeout performance against the Toronto Blue Jays, and that’s exactly what he’ll need for Over bettors to cash on his strikeout prop on Monday. Nola has had at least seven strikeouts in nine outings this year, and he hasn’t had many matchups as good as this one. Nola will be going up against the Giants tonight, and San Francisco has the fourth-highest strikeout rate in baseball this season. I have been attacking the Giants with strikeout props all throughout this season, and I don’t see anything preventing Nola from turning in a big performance here. The fact it’s going off at plus-money odds is actually surprising.

Bet: Nola Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+110)

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves (-218, 10.5)

David Peterson’s earned runs allowed is down at 2.5 tonight, which is mostly because the lefty doesn’t pitch a lot of innings for New York. But facing the top offense in baseball, I can see Peterson giving up at least three earned in as little as four or five innings. And that’s the amount of time I see him spending on the mound in this start, as he threw 91 pitches against the Pittsburgh Pirates in his last trip to the hill. If he has that long of a leash against Atlanta, he should work deeper in this game than he did in that last one — when he pitched only 3.2 innings. But either way, I’m playing the Over on this total because I think Atlanta will get to him. He gave up four earned in 5.0 innings against the Braves earlier this season.

Bet: Peterson Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-145)

Texas Rangers (-155, 9) at Arizona Diamondbacks

Christian Walker has been sensational for the Diamondbacks this year, as the 32-year-old is batting .274 with 28 homers and 84 RBIs. Walker has also mashed lefties all season, batting .286 with six doubles, 11 homers and 29 RBIs against them. With that in mind, I like him as a +140 play to reach two total bases against Jordan Montgomery tonight. Montgomery has obviously been superb all season, but Walker has doubled off him in the past. And I’m not sure this matchup is tough enough to warrant Walker going off at odds this favorable. So, I’m keeping it simple and playing him to come through tonight.

Bet: Walker Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140)
