Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Monday, July 31st:

Los Angeles Angels at Atlanta Braves (-218, 10)

C.J. Cron is set to play his first game in an Angels uniform since 2017, so maybe there will be some nerves at play here. But Cron had gone Over 1.5 total bases in seven of his last eight games as a member of the Colorado Rockies, so he is swinging a hot bat coming into this game. Now, the 33-year-old slugger will be playing in a hitter-friendly ballpark, and he happens to be getting a good matchup with Charlie Morton on the hill.

Morton is just 2 for 13 in his career against Morton, but that feels like it’s ripe for a changing. Morton has given up a lot of hard contact against righties this season, and the veteran goes to his four-seam fastball and curveball very often. Those are the exact types of pitches that Cron likes to hit, so I can see him making an instant impact in his return to this Los Angeles franchise.

Look for Cron to come away with multiple hits or an extra base hit, and don’t be surprised if he goes yard.

Bet: Cron Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

San Diego Padres (-198, 11.5) at Colorado Rockies

It feels like I’m always betting Austin Gomber player props, whether it’s for or against him. Well, here we go again. Gomber is pitching at Coors Field tonight, which means he’s at risk of getting lit up a bit. Gomber has a 7.19 ERA in 12 home starts this season, and he now faces a Padres team that could present a lot of problems for him.

This season, San Diego is fifth in baseball in wRC+ against left-handed pitching, and that’s dangerous enough outside of Coors Field. Now, in this hitter-friendly environment, you’d have to think the Padres can hang a big number on Gomber early in this game. Quite a few players on San Diego have already had the lefty’s number, with the team combining to hit .275 with five homers, 11 doubles and 18 RBIs in 102 career at-bats against him.

I’m playing Gomber to give up Over 3.5 earned runs in this one, which is priced at -130 at DraftKings Sportsbook. It’s as high as -140 elsewhere.

Bet: Gomber Over 3.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-130)

Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners (-130, 8)

Nick Pivetta isn’t the most reliable starter in the world, and his failure to work deep in games makes him a tough guy to bet on when it comes to player props. Pivetta’s 80 pitches thrown against the Braves on July 25th were the second-most pitches he has thrown in a game since May 16th. But Boston does appear to be stretching him back out again, and Pivetta has recorded at least seven strikeouts in three of his last six trips to the mound. And I like the 30-year-old’s chances of hitting that mark against the Mariners tonight.

Pivetta might not cruise through this outing, as he’s just not that good of a starter and the Mariners offense isn’t terrible. But Seattle has the second-highest strikeout rate in all of baseball. This is a team that can really struggle to make contact, so PIvetta has a good shot at racking up strikeouts in this one. With that said, I’m playing him to strike out at least seven at these reasonable -110 odds.

Bet: Pivetta Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-110)
