Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Tuesday, August 8th:

Washington Nationals at Philadelphia Phillies (-290, 8.5)

This season has undeniably been a nightmare for Trea Turner, but he did go 4 for 12 with two doubles, a homer and five RBIs in the three-game series against the Kansas City Royals over the weekend. Turner snapped out of a big-time funk in that set of games, and he now should be feeling pretty good about himself heading back to Philadelphia. With that in mind, I’m taking a shot on him to go Over 1.5 total bases at plus-money odds.

Turner has had some success against Nationals starter Trevor Williams in the past, too. He’s 5 for 19 with three homers and seven RBIs against the righty. That’s pretty hard to ignore when you see the price next to Turner’s name here. It’s also worth noting that Turner has been far better in day games than he has been in night games this season. He’s batting .265 with two triples, 12 doubles, five homers and 17 RBIs when not playing at night.

Bet: Turner Over 1.5 Total Bases (+120)

Minnesota Twins (-122, 8) at Detroit Tigers

It has been quite a few games since Sonny Gray has issued multiple walks, and the righty has actually walked a total of just one batter over his last three outings. But prior to this three-game stretch, Gray had walked at least two batters in six of his previous eight starts. And overall, the righty has had 14 games in which he has walked at least two hitters. That’s 14 out of 22 starts this season, which means he really does this rather often.

The Tigers aren’t exactly a team that walks very often, but Gray just isn’t a pitcher than can be counted on to string together this many perfect performances in a row. He’s bound to have some issues with his control sooner rather than later, and I think there’s a good chance it happens here. Gray has walked more batters on the road than he has at home this season, and he also issued four walks in his last start against Detroit.

Bet: Gray Over 1.5 Walks (-115)

Colorado Rockies at Milwaukee Brewers (-218, 8.5)

Kyle Freeland went out and struck out six batters in 6.0 innings against the San Diego Padres on August 2nd. Freeland has now had at least five strikeouts in eight of his 21 starts this season. That might not seem like much, but it proves the talented lefty can do it. With that said, I like him to go out and reach that mark in tonight’s outing.

For starters, Freeland won’t be pitching at Coors Field in this game, so that significantly limits the upside for the Brewers lineup. But the real reason to back Freeland is that Milwaukee has the seventh-highest strikeout rate in baseball this season. And when you break it down to just lefties, the Brewers have the third-highest mark in the league.

I just see this being a good spot for Freeland, and I love that it’s going off at plus-money odds. For what it’s worth, he had five strikeouts against this team in Colorado back on May 3rd.

Bet: Freeland Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+110)
