The 2024 MLB season is finally here. After another wild offseason and an exciting couple of weeks of Spring Training, we’re ready for some games that matter. This season, VSiN Managing Editor Adam Burke will have you covered when it comes to MLB sides and totals in his daily best bets column. You’ll also get some First Five Inning analysis from Jonathan Von Tobel. On top of that, our analytics guru Steve Makinen will feed you some interesting trends and systems on a daily basis. But I’ll be focusing specifically on MLB player props this season, dishing out at least three per day every Monday to Friday. With that in mind, let’s get into the plays for Friday, April 26th.

Oakland Athletics at Baltimore Orioles – 7:05 pm ET
Corbin Burnes is 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA in his first season with the Orioles. And I like the righty to move to 4-0 tonight. Only one team in the league has a lower wRC+ than the Athletics, so Burnes really should be able to navigate this lineup with ease. Meanwhile, Ross Stripling will be on the mound for Oakland. The righty is 0-5 with a 5.34 ERA this season, and he’s not going to like this matchup very much. Baltimore is third in the league in wRC+ against right-handed pitching, and the team just has a number of players that will make for tough matchups for Stripling. With that in mind, I like the Orioles to have a lead when Burnes exits the game. And I trust Baltimore’s bullpen to bring this home.
Pick: Burnes To Record A Win (-115 – 1.5 units)
Chicago Cubs at Boston Red Sox – 7:10 pm ET
Kutter Crawford has been one of the pleasant surprises of the 2024 season thus far. The righty is 1-0 with a 0.66 ERA over five starts. And he has been really consistent as a swing-and-miss pitcher. Crawford, who has always had intriguing stuff, has struck out at least six batters in four of his five starts this year. And I don’t see any reason he can’t reach that mark against the Cubs. Chicago doesn’t strike out at an alarming clip, but the team still has the 10th-highest strikeout rate (24.0%) in the league this year. And Crawford has had some success in limited exposure to some of the players in this Cubs lineup.
Pick: Crawford Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-115 – 1.5 units)
Pittsburgh Pirates at San Francisco Giants – 4:05 pm ET
Michael Conforto is batting .277 with five homers and 16 RBIs this season. And he is now going to face Quinn Priester, who has really struggled against lefties in his career. In 107 at-bats, lefties are hitting .336 with nine doubles and 10 homers against him. And lefties also have an OBP of .425 and .701 against Priester. With that in mind, I like Conforto to come through at the plate tonight. The lefty slugger has always been better against righties than lefties. In fact, he has crushed right-handed pitching throughout his career. So, Conforto is going to absolutely love this matchup.
Pick: Conforto Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120 – 1.5 units)
