Game 2 Cleveland Indians vs. New York Yankees Prediction:

The Cleveland Guardians are on the road facing the New York Yankees in a critical Game 2 in the American League Championship Series on Tuesday. Both teams aces will start.

Tanner Bibee gets the start for the Guardians. During the regular season, Bibee had a 3.47 ERA with 9.7 strikeouts to 2.3 walks per nine innings. He was far better in his road appearances, with that ERA going up to 4.15 at home compared to posting a 2.76 ERA on the road.

Top MLB Resources:

The Guardians support him with a bullpen whose 2.57 ERA during the regular season was by far the best in baseball. No other team posted better than a 3.11 bullpen ERA, though the Yankees bullpen comes in having performed their best down the stretch.

In 15 2/3 innings of work in the previous series, the Yankees bullpen did not allow a single run. Since September 1, between the regular season and postseason, the team had a 3.15 bullpen ERA entering this series.

Gerrit Cole gets the start in Game 2 for the New York Yankees. He has a 3.36 ERA this season between the regular season and postseason, but he has been at his best recently with three earned runs or fewer allowed in 11 of his past 12 starts with a 2.38 ERA and 0.4 home runs per nine innings allowed in this stretch.

The Guardians have had difficulties scoring on the road all season, ranking 23rd with 4.1 runs per game on the road this season.

While the New York Yankees led the American League in scoring with nearly five runs per game, they notched just under 4.8 runs per game at home compared to 5.2 runs per game on the road.

With the temperatures cooling down in New York, it becomes just a bit harder to hit it out of Yankee Stadium. With this pitching matchup, Game 2 sets up for a low-scoring game.
