Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners

Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby has a 4.19 ERA between the regular season and postseason despite a career-high 10 strikeouts per nine innings. However, he’s also posted career-worst marks of 1.1 home runs and 2.2 walks per nine innings. The Tigers will counter with ace Tarik Skubal, who has a 2.19 ERA overall between the regular season and postseason with 11.3 strikeouts and 1.5 walks per nine innings, but he has lost all three of his starts against the Mariners. In those outings, Skubal has a 4.58 ERA with four home runs allowed over 17 2/3 innings. Kirby, meanwhile, has struggled even more against the Tigers, giving up six runs and two home runs in 10 innings across two starts.

Picks: Tigers Moneyline (-134) and Over 5.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap: Tigers -147, Total 6.1)
