MLB Best Bets and Props:

It’s time for another incredible day of Sunday baseball. Almost every major league team plays during the afternoon, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:35 PM (ET). Below are two of my MLB best bets and props for Sunday, July 7, but price shop for the best odds available.

As always, Sundays can be tricky when it comes to betting due to getaway games and players getting the day off. You are always advised to take special care when it comes to volume.

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees

7:10 pm ET

Kutter Crawford has been fantastic on the road this season, posting a 2.70 ERA (4.20 at Fenway) with a 1.07 WHIP and a .205 batting average against.

The Red Sox right-hander has also done a stellar job of preventing unnecessary baserunners, holding opposing lineups to two walks or less in 12 consecutive starts. This is an important trait to carry into a showdown with the Yankees, who are among the league’s best at reaching base.

Crawford held the Bronx Bombers to one walk during his most recent outing against them on June 16, where he managed to record 18 outs.

On Sunday, the 28-year-old only needs to tally one out in the 5th inning to cash the Over on his 15.5 Outs prop. Crawford has gone over this mark in seven of his eight outings on the road and 14 of 17 overall in 2024.

MLB Best Bet: Kutter Crawford o15.5 Outs (+100)

Detroit Tigers vs. Cincinnati Reds

1:40 pm ET

Tigers ace Tarik Skubal has elite command. The southpaw has a 4.9% walk rate, which lands him in the 91st percentile in MLB (96th percentile in 2023).

On Sunday afternoon, Skubal will take on a Reds team carrying a 5.3% walk rate versus left-handers over the last 30 days.

Cincinnati also features a lineup full of right-handed bats. This is good news from a walk perspective, as Skubal boasts a 4.7% walk rate vs. RHH.

Skubal has a fantastic matchup to hit the Under on his 1.5 BB prop, and if not for some recency bias, this line would likely be -200 or worse.

MLB Best Bet: Tarik Skubal Under 1.5 BB (-125)
