7:07 PM Eastern

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Yankees starting pitcher Cam Schlittler allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings in his MLB debut prior to the All-Star Break, posting a 2.82 ERA with 11.6 strikeouts per nine innings at the minor league level this season. Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer has a 4.70 ERA with two home runs allowed per nine innings. He is backed by a lineup that is averaging over 5.3 runs per game at home, which is second in the American League. The Yankees’ 5.2 runs per game away from home is second in the American League.

MLB Picks: Yankees Moneyline +105 and Over 9 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Yankees -113 and Total 9.1)

7:15 PM Eastern

San Francisco Giants vs. Atlanta Braves

Giants starting pitcher Landen Roupp has allowed just four earned runs in his past five starts and has a 3.27 ERA with 0.8 home runs per nine innings this season. He faces a Braves lineup that entered the series 21st in scoring with under 4.1 runs per game. Braves starting pitcher Davis Daniel has only pitched five innings at the MLB level this season, giving up one run. At the minor league level, he had a 3.52 ERA. Daniel will face a Giants lineup that is 23rd in run production with just over four runs per game.

MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants vs. Atlanta Braves Under 9.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total 8.9)

8:05 PM Eastern

Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago Cubs

The Royals send 45-year-old Rich Hill to the mound for his first MLB start this season, after he made four relief appearances with the Boston Red Sox last season. In a starting role in 2023, he had a 5.42 ERA in his time with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres. Cubs starting pitcher Matthew Boyd has been a rock of consistency, posting a 2.34 ERA with only 0.8 home runs and 1.8 walks per nine innings allowed. The Royals rank last in the American League in scoring with 3.4 runs per game. The Cubs are second in MLB with nearly 5.3 runs per game, and the wind blowing out should help both offenses.

MLB Pick: Cubs Run Line -1.5 TBD (Greg’s Handicap Cubs -1.5 -118)

8:40 PM Eastern

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies

Rockies starting pitcher Bradley Blalock has a whopping 9.96 ERA with 2.5 home runs and 3.7 strikeouts per nine innings this season, with the Rockies’ home ERA of 6.12 last in the league. Cardinals starting pitcher Erick Fedde has a 4.83 ERA with 5.3 strikeouts per nine innings, which drops to a 4.25 ERA with 0.8 home runs per nine innings allowed away from home.

MLB Pick: Cardinals Run Line -1.5 +100 (Greg’s Handicap Cardinals -1.5 -139)

9:40 PM Eastern

Houston Astros vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez has a 2.75 ERA with 0.6 home runs and 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings. Diamondbacks starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez owns a 5.94 ERA with 1.8 home runs allowed per nine innings, but he has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his past seven starts since coming off the injured list.

MLB Picks: Astros Moneyline -120 and Under 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Astros -133 and Total 8.2)
