Top MLB Resources:
1:35 PM Eastern
Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler has been at his best since coming off the paternity list, allowing just two earned runs over his five starts since, with at least seven strikeouts in every start. He owns a 2.27 ERA for the season. Reds starting pitcher Chase Burns is coming off a rough outing in his first career road start, failing to finish the first inning. However, his minor league numbers—1.91 ERA with 12.1 strikeouts and 1.8 walks per nine innings—suggest he has the tools to succeed at the big league level.
Pick: Reds vs. Phillies Total Under 9 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 8.2)
1:40 PM Eastern
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Miami Marlins
Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff is making his first MLB start since 2023. His rehab was disrupted by a comebacker in one of his last rehab outings, giving him just one appearance in a live minor league game over the past 30 days. Despite that, the Brewers average over 5.5 runs per game on the road, ranking second in the league. Marlins starting pitcher Edward Cabrera owns a 3.41 ERA, but his 3.8 walks per nine innings often tax a bullpen that ranks 22nd in the league with a 4.27 ERA. Cabrera has pitched 5 1/3 innings or fewer in three of his last five starts.
Pick: Brewers vs. Marlins Over 8 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 8.4)
4:10 PM Eastern
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Seattle Mariners
Mariners starter George Kirby has rounded into form after a rough return from the injured list. While he owns a 4.85 ERA overall, he has allowed two runs or fewer in four of his past five starts. He faces a Pirates lineup averaging fewer than 3.1 runs per game on the road—the worst mark in the National League. Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes has been dominant with a 2.03 ERA, allowing just 5.8 hits and 0.4 home runs per nine innings, both of which lead qualifying NL starters.
Picks: Mariners Moneyline +101 and Under 7 Runs (Greg’s Handicap: Mariners -113, Total: 6.4)
10:10 PM Eastern
San Francisco Giants vs. Oakland Athletics
A’s starting pitcher Jacob Lopez has had a strong recent stretch, allowing just four earned runs across his past five starts. However, his full-season line still includes a 3.88 ERA, 1.4 home runs, and 3.5 walks per nine innings, and he’s backed by a bullpen whose 5.78 ERA ranks 29th in MLB. On the other side, the Giants’ bullpen leads the league with a 2.99 ERA in support of starter Hayden Birdsong, who has a 4.30 ERA this season.
Pick: Giants Moneyline -102 (Greg’s Handicap: Giants -117)
