Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers
Athletics starting pitcher Luis Severino should see his ridiculous home and road split iron out and regress on the road a bit. Severino has a 0.93 ERA on the road with no home runs allowed in 38 2/3 innings away from home compared to a 6.79 ERA at home with seven home runs allowed in 57 innings. He is backed up by a bullpen that is last in the league in ERA at 5.94. Tigers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal has been dominant with a 2.06 ERA and 11 strikeouts to 1.1 walks per nine innings.
MLB Picks: Tigers Run Line -1.5 -130 and Over 7 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Tigers -1.5 -143 and Total 7.6)
7:10 PM Eastern
Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets
Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider seems to have found his groove after allowing one run in his past two starts across 12 innings after the team lost each of his first five starts of the season. Mets starting pitcher Frankie Montas was a disaster in his minor league rehab starts in preparation for his 2025 MLB debut, posting a 12.05 ERA across six starts.
MLB Pick: Braves Run Line -1.5 +110 (Greg’s Handicap Braves -1.5 +103)
New York Yankees vs. Cincinnati Reds
Reds starting pitcher Chase Burns is making his highly anticipated MLB debut after dominating the minor leagues this season. He had a 1.91 ERA, with 12.1 strikeouts and 1.8 walks per nine innings. He was tremendous in college at Wake Forest. Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon enters having allowed at least three runs in each of his past three starts, but has still been solid overall this season with a 3.10 ERA, which ticks down to a 2.93 ERA with 0.8 home runs per nine innings allowed away from home.
MLB Picks: Reds Moneyline +140 and Under 9.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Reds +134 and Total 8.8)
7:40 PM Eastern
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Kansas City Royals
Royals starting pitcher Kris Bubic owns a 2.12 ERA with only 0.3 home runs per nine innings. He is backed up by a bullpen that ranks 10th in ERA at 3.54. The Rays are third in the big leagues in bullpen ERA at 3.29 while starting pitcher Taj Bradley owns a 4.95 ERA with 1.4 home runs per nine innings, which lowers to a 4.02 ERA with 1.1 home runs per nine innings. He faces a Royals lineup that ranks last in the league in scoring at home with 2.9 runs per game.
MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays vs. Kansas City Royals Under 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total 7.8)
9:40 PM Eastern
Washington Nationals vs. San Diego Padres
Padres starting pitcher Ryan Bergert has excelled in his first eight career appearances with a 1.88 ERA, allowing only two home runs in 24 innings this season. Nationals starting pitcher Trevor Williams has been allowing a ton of general contact with seven strikeouts per nine innings to send his ERA to 5.54. He is allowing just one home run and 2.2 walks per nine innings.
MLB Picks: Padres Run Line -1.5 +130 and Under 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Padres -1.5 -109 and Total 8.2)
9:45 PM Eastern
Miami Marlins vs. San Francisco Giants
While Giants starting pitcher Justin Verlander has had issues this season with a 4.45 ERA and 1.4 home runs per nine innings allowed, he faces a Marlins lineup that is 13th out of 15 National League teams in scoring with four runs per game. Their home run at-bat rate is 26th in the league. The Giants’ 2.63 bullpen ERA also leads the league by over a half point. Marlins starting pitcher Cal Quantrill has a 5.68 ERA overall this season that shoots up to 6.53 on the road with nearly 1.5 home runs per nine innings away from home.
MLB Picks: Giants Run Line -1.5 +120 and Over 7.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicap Giants -1.5 -114 and Total 8.2 Runs)
