Kansas City Royals vs. Chicago White Sox

Both offenses have struggled to score, with the Royals averaging nearly 3.4 runs per game—28th in the league—while the White Sox are 26th with under 3.5 runs per game. Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo owns a 3.45 ERA and has completed at least 5 2/3 innings in eight of his past nine starts. White Sox starter Davis Martin has a 3.66 ERA with 2.2 walks per nine innings and has allowed two runs or fewer in three of his past four outings.

Pick: Royals vs. White Sox Under 8 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 7.8)

6:45 PM Eastern

Texas Rangers vs. Washington Nationals

Rangers starting pitcher Patrick Corbin owns a 3.71 ERA this season, but his 4.80 fielding independent is a sign of possible regression, with 1.5 home runs allowed per nine innings and just 6.9 strikeouts and three walks per nine. He’s backed by a lineup tied for 27th in runs per game on the road with 3.1. Nationals starter Mike Soroka holds a 5.81 ERA, but a more respectable 4.56 FIP with 8.1 strikeouts and 1.7 walks per nine innings.

Pick: Nationals Moneyline +113 (Greg’s Handicap: Nationals +101)

7:10 PM Eastern

Houston Astros vs. Cleveland Guardians

Guardians starter Logan Allen is issuing 4.6 walks per nine innings but limiting damage with just 0.7 home runs allowed and a 4.22 ERA. Astros starter Colton Gordon carries a 5.95 ERA and has surrendered 1.8 home runs per nine innings. He’s backed by an Astros offense that ranks 25th in scoring with under 3.4 runs per game on the road.

Pick: Guardians Moneyline -115 (Greg’s Handicap: Guardians -139)

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Cincinnati Reds

Reds starter Nick Lodolo owns a 3.10 ERA with a 3.61 FIP. Though his strikeout rate has dipped to 7.8 per nine innings, he’s giving up just 0.9 home runs and 1.8 walks per nine. Diamondbacks starter Eduardo Rodriguez, making his first start since May 14, holds a 7.05 ERA with 1.6 home runs and 3.6 walks per nine innings.

Pick: Reds Moneyline +108 (Greg’s Handicap: Reds -145)

8:10 PM Eastern

San Diego Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Padres starter Randy Vasquez has managed a 3.99 ERA despite a 5.34 FIP, with 5.4 strikeouts and 4.6 walks per nine innings. He faces a Brewers lineup that ranks ninth in scoring at 4.6 runs per game. Brewers starter Chad Patrick has a 2.97 ERA, though the bullpen behind him ranks 21st in ERA at 4.42.

Pick: Padres vs. Brewers Over 8.5 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 8.8)

8:40 PM Eastern

New York Mets vs. Colorado Rockies

Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela holds a 7.14 ERA and is allowing a staggering 15.2 hits per nine innings. The Mets offense ranks 11th in scoring with over 4.4 runs per game. New York starts Kodai Senga, who may be due for regression from his 1.60 ERA, as his FIP is 3.20 and he’s walking 4.1 batters per nine innings.

Pick: Mets vs. Rockies Over 10 Runs (Greg’s Handicapped Total: 10.8)

10:15 PM Eastern

Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants

Giants pitcher Hayden Birdsong has a 2.37 ERA this season, mostly out of the bullpen, but has given up just four earned runs in three starts since moving to the rotation. Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach has a 3.13 ERA and is issuing only 1.4 walks per nine innings, though he’s backed by a bullpen ranked 16th in ERA at 3.90. The Giants’ bullpen leads the league with a 2.38 ERA.

Pick: Giants Moneyline +120 (Greg’s Handicap: Giants -114)
