Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for March 28. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Saturday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Saturday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’m going to keep these much shorter to cut down on my workload a little.
Brett Baty Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+130) vs. Pirates
Pirates at Mets – 4:10 pm ET
Keller is a guy that OptaAI likes in this game, but Baty is 3 for 7 with a double and a homer against the righty in his career. Baty also had three RBIs on Opening Day, so I feel the matchup and momentum favor him having a nice little Saturday — that doesn’t feature Home Depot or Bed, Bath & Beyond (if there’s enough time).
Chad Patrick Over 14.5 Outs Recorded (-157) vs. White Sox
White Sox at Brewers – 7:10 pm ET
Patrick threw 83 pitches against the Dodgers in a March 16th Spring Training game. He also followed that up with 87 pitches against the Cubs on March 22nd. The righty’s arm seems ready to work pretty deep into games, so I like him to throw at least five innings against a White Sox offense that was 28th in MLB in wRC+ against righties last year.
Kevin McGonigle Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+105) vs. Padres
Tigers at Padres – 8:40 pm ET
McGonigle is batting .625 with four RBIs to start the season, so he’s scorching at the moment. With that in mind, I’m riding the hot hand at plus-money odds. McGonigle has a decent matchup against Randy Vasquez tonight. Plus, it might take time for pitchers to figure him out.
