MLB value plays for Sunday, May 28

Greg Peterson posts his daily handicapped MLB lines for every game every day. Based on his lines vs. the actual lines, here is where Peterson sees value on today’s menu. Peterson also does a daily podcast, The Baseball Betting Show, on which he breaks down every game every day.

White Sox vs. Tigers Total 8. Greg’s Total 7.3.

After a rough start to the season, White Sox starter Dylan Cease is rounding back into form. He has completed six innings or more in each of his past three starts, allowing a combined five runs in those starts. Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez has been even better recently, posting a 1.39 ERA in his last eight starts with 9.6 strikeouts to 1.7 walks per nine innings. The Tigers support Rodriguez with a lineup that is 28th in the league in runs per game and 26th in batting average, and the White Sox are 27th in road batting average.

Blue Jays (-115) vs. Twins. Greg’s Line: -142.

Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios has struggled on the road throughout both the season and his career, posting a 5.60 ERA on the road compared to a 2.22 ERA at home. Twins starter Bailey Ober has allowed three runs or fewer in five of his six starts, pitching to a 2.55 ERA and allowing just 0.8 home runs and 2.5 walks per nine innings.

Marlins vs. Angels Total 8.5. Greg’s Total 7.9.

The Marlins are averaging the fewest runs per game of any team in the National League. They face Angels starter Patrick Sandoval, who’s allowing 0.5 home runs per nine innings. Marlins starter Eury Perez has allowed six earned runs across his first three starts and is getting 10.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
