Sunday Betting Recaps

Sunday was a mixed bag of betting results in the major team sports (aka Big Four).
Dogs continued to bark in the NBA with the Miami Heat upsetting the Boston Celtics as they’re now 4-2 SU and 6-0 ATS in the conference championship round with the Heat and Denver Nuggets both leading 3-0 in their respective series.
Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Dallas Stars in overtime in the NHL playoffs (all 4 conference finals games so far have gone to OT) as home favorites while MLB chalk was 13-3 on Sunday. But then dogs continued to dominate in the USFL.
Let’s get to the details with our nightly betting recaps, and then update the spread and total records in each sport.

NBA: Heat beat Celtics again, this time blowing them out 128-102 as 4.5-point home underdogs and +155 on the money line to take commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals (went Over betting total of 214.5). Home/dog/Over all 1-0 on Sunday. The "zig-zag" (aka "loser of the last") was 0-1 with the loss by the Celtics after they lost the previous game.

More NBA: Dogs 4-2 SU this round and a perfect 6-0 ATS, though faves still lead 49-24 SU and 40-32-1 ATS (55.6%) overall in the playoffs w/ 1 game closing pick-’em. Home/road teams back to .500 at 3-3 SU, while road teams dipped to 5-1 ATS. Home teams lead 47-27 SU and 41-32-1 ATS (56.2%). Overs are 5-1 this round and now lead 39-33-2 (54.2%) overall. The zig-zag is only 1-3 ATS in this round, but still leads 31-28-1 ATS.

NHL: Golden Knights rallied to force overtime and then beat the Stars 3-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals. The ViewFromVegas is they were -117 home favorites (stayed Under 5.5 goals). Home/fave/Under went 1-0. The "zig-zag" (aka "loser of the last") went 0-1 as the Stars lost the prior game. 

More NHL: Faves/dogs are back to .500 at 2-2 this round but dogs still lead 40-35 overall with 2 pick-’ems. Home/road teams are also 2-2 this round but dogs still lead 43-34. Unders lead 3-1 this round, but Overs’ lead is down to 39-37-1 overall. The zig-zag starts the round 0-2, but is still leading 37-26 overall.

MLB: Faves went 13-3 Sunday including the Mets’ sweep of the Guardians, The upsets were by the Orioles (+170 at Blue Jays), Cardinals (+120 vs. Dodgers) and Brewers (+117 at Rays). Home teams also dominated at 12-4. Over/Unders split 8-8. On the season, faves lead 412-283 with 7 PKs. Home teams lead 374-326 with 2 neutral sites. Overs’ slim lead is at 341-333-27 with 1 no-action.

USFL: Philadelphia (+8) upset New Orleans 16-10 (stayed way Under betting total of 48 points) and Houston (+5.5) also upset New Jersey 16-10 (also Under 48) as underdogs went 3-1 SU and ATS in Week 6 (Unders swept 4-0). On the season, dogs lead 15-9 SU and 18-6 ATS (75%). Unders take 14-10 (58.3%) lead after being tied 10-10 entering the weekend.
