NBA Best Bets Today – March 19

Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs – 8:00 pm ET

The Mavericks are coming off an incredible win over the Denver Nuggets, with Kyrie Irving hitting a wild game-winning shot at the buzzer. Dallas has now won five of its last six and has covered in six straight. However, winning by double digits in San Antonio could be a tall order. San Antonio has covered in 10 of its last 14 games, so this is a team that is playing competitive basketball right now.

The reality is that the Spurs can hang with anyone, but they tend to have moments where they look like a young team and let games get away. But those aren’t happening as often. And Victor Wembanyama looks like a top-20 player in the league already, and it’s his defense that is world class. He’s one of the best rim protectors in basketball and should make things tough on Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic at the rim. And San Antonio has some size on the wing to throw on Doncic. Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson are big bodies that can move their feet with him. And Tre Jones will compete his tail off against Irving on the perimeter. None of it has amounted to success in this matchup this season, but this is a different Spurs team over the last few weeks.

The Mavericks are also just 0-8 against the spread when playing on the road after a win by three or less under Jason Kidd. And they’re 15-28 ATS off a win by six or less in that same span. So, let’s see if Dallas can back it up. But I like the Spurs to make this a game, so I’m taking the points and sprinkling the moneyline with today’s NBA best bets.

Bet: Spurs +9 (-112 – 2 units) & Spurs ML (+295 – 0.5 units)

NBA Player Props Today – March 19

Houston Rockets at Washington Wizards – 7:00 pm ET

In the three games the Rockets have played without Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green has had at least four assists in two of them. The 22-year-old has been playing incredible basketball on the offensive end lately, and his usage rate has only gone up with Sengun out. Now, the Rockets go on the road and face a Wizards team that is last in the league in defensive rating. So, Green should have no trouble scoring in this one. However, I like him to make some plays for his teammates, too. The Wizards are giving up a league-high 29.6 assists per game to opponents this year. They fall asleep regularly off the ball. So, Green should have plenty of opportunities to set his teammates up. That’s why I’m going Over on assists with today’s NBA player props.

Bet: Green Over 3.5 Assists (-105 – 2 units)

New Orleans Pelicans at Brooklyn Nets – 7:30 pm ET

CJ McCollum is coming off a game in which he had 30 points, eight assists and two rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Pelicans don’t need McCollum to turn in big performances every night, but he’s capable of doing it when his number is called. And it shouldn’t surprise anybody if he racks up some numbers against the Nets. This Brooklyn team just doesn’t defend the perimeter very well, and it’s possible McCollum will have Cam Thomas on him here. That would be huge for McCollum and this player prop. But either way, the veteran should be able to punish whoever checks him here. And he had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists in his only other meeting with the Nets this season. That would be enough for him to easily cash this play.

Bet: CJ McCollum Over 23.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-122 – 1.5 units)

Added Plays

Nuggets/Timberwolves Over 214.5 (-115 – 1.5 units)
