Minnesota Timberwolves at Brooklyn Nets – 7:00 pm ET

After Sunday’s 129-105 loss to the 76ers, Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said he’s failing to get his players to compete hard. He ripped Brooklyn for the group’s miserable defense and high turnover percentage, really challenging his squad to show some more fight. Well, after that type of rant, it’d be a little surprising if the Nets can’t play with some fire.

Under Fernandez, the Nets are actually 8-4 against the spread when facing teams that get outrebounded by at least 3.0 rebounds per game, and they’re also 7-3-1 ATS when playing at home with totals between 220 and 229.5 with him on the sidelines. Also, Brooklyn is 17-13 ATS an underdog of 3.5 to 9.5 points in that span.

This is also a Minnesota team that continues to be without Anthony Edwards, so it’s not like the Timberwolves are at full strength right now. Minnesota has also covered only once this season.

It’s also worth noting that home underdogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points that are coming off back-to-back home losses are 50-19 ATS in the first half of the season since 2017. That’s good for +29.1 units and an ROI of 38.3%.

Bet: Nets +9.5 (-113)

Detroit Pistons at Memphis Grizzlies – 8:00 pm ET

It remains to be seen what the Memphis injury report will look like after having played Toronto last night, but we should see a motivated Ja Morant in his return from a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. In Friday’s loss to Los Angeles, Morant’s body language was awful as the team’s bench kept the Grizzlies in the game against the Lakers. It was also reported that Morant was animated in the locker room after the game, as he felt he didn’t play as much as he should have. Let’s hope he’s a bit more engaged this evening, as this is a game Memphis should be able to win.

Since the start of the 2024-25 season, the Grizzlies are 29-18 straight-up and 24-23 ATS when playing in Memphis. They’re also 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS when playing at home on the second leg of a back-to-back, and they’re an impressive 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS when playing at home after a road loss.

This is also a game in which Memphis’ mediocre defense shouldn’t be exposed too badly. Detroit is a good team, but the Pistons aren’t anything special offensively.

I’m also sprinkling some Grizzlies moneyline here. Since 2022, home teams that won between 51.0% and 60.0% of their games the previous season that are coming off road losses are 30-6 SU in the first seven games of a new season. The home teams have won those games by an average of 9.3 points per game. That system is also 6-0 since the start of the new season.

Bet: Grizzlies +5.5 (-128 – 1.5 units) & Grizzlies ML (+160 – 0.5 units)

2025-26 Sides/Totals: 16-13 (+0.69 units)
