Friday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.
Ryan Kalkbrenner Over 8.5 Points (-111) vs. Bulls
Bulls at Hornets – 7:00 pm ET
Kalkbrenner failed to hit the nine-point mark in his only other meeting with the Bulls this season, but I like him to have a solid outing as a scorer tonight. Playing without LaMelo Ball will hurt a little, as that’s one of the best passers in the league. However, Chicago is the worst team in the NBA when it comes to defending at the rim. Well, that’s where Kalkbrenner scores 92% of his points. The Bulls also play at the second-fastest pace (103.9) in the NBA, so this could turn into an up-and-down game with a ton of extra possessions. That would be beneficial for a big like Kalkbrenner that can score on putback opportunities.
There’s also a long list of low-usage centers that have gone Over their point totals against the Bulls lately. Quinten Post, Jay Huff (twice), Goga Bitadze, Wendell Carter Jr., Kel’el Ware, and Luke Kornet are some of the recent ones. I think Kalkbrenner can do some of the same damage they did. He just has to avoid picking up cheap fouls against Nikola Vucevic. He’ll be giving up a ton in weight in that matchup, so it won’t be easy. But I have faith that he can do it.
Evan Mobley Over 32.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-122) vs. Wizards
Cavaliers at Wizards – 7:00 pm ET
The Cavaliers will be playing without Jarrett Allen tonight. Meanwhile, the Wizards won’t have Alexandre Sarr. That should mean that Mobley will feast around the rim, where Washington is the third-worst defensive team in the league. However, the Wizards are also the third-worst team when it comes to defending above-the-break 3s. Well, Mobley scores a combined 77% of his points in those two problem areas for Washington. That said, he should have a big game as a scorer.
Mobley has also had at least 10 boards in three straight games without Allen, meaning he should show up when it comes to both points and rebounds. He’s also a good playmaker for a center, so I expect him to chip in a little with assists. We just have to hope this game doesn’t turn into a blowout. We want Mobley to play all four quarters in this one.
