Friday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.
Isaiah Stewart Over 12.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)
Rockets at Pistons – 7:00 pm ET
The Rockets are first in the NBA in offensive rebound rate (40.6%), so the Pistons could opt to play a little bigger tonight. That would benefit a player like Stewart, who I’m taking to finish with at least 13 combined points and rebounds this evening. Stewart has hit this mark in three consecutive games, plus five of the last six. He’s also averaging 15.8 combined points and rebounds when playing at home, and he has gone Over this mark in 15 of his 19 home games.
Stewart is a big body that can do some work around the basket, and he’s also a decent floor-spacing option. When you add that to his activity on the glass, I think you’re going to get a good game here.
Jaylon Tyson Over 15.5 Points (+100) vs. Kings
Kings at Cavaliers – 7:30 pm ET
Tyson has been a little cold since his 39-point outburst against the 76ers, but he’s still getting a ton of shots up. He’s averaging 15.0 attempts per game over the last two contests, so it’s not like he stopped firing. Well, as long as he continues to be aggressive, I’m good with taking the Over on his point totals. And he’s going to continue to be counted on offensively, as Darius Garland and Sam Merrill remain out for the Cavaliers.
In the games Tyson has played without Garland and Merrill, he’s averaging 21.1 points per game. That said, he has been producing in a big way, and now he gets a great matchup. The Kings are the worst team in the NBA when it comes to defending inside 10 feet, where Tyson scores 41% of his points thanks to a good floater and the strength to bump defenders off when driving to the rim. He’s also a threat to knock down some triples tonight, even against a Sacramento team that has been alright defending 3s.
Cam Spencer Over 8.5 Assists (+105) vs. Pelicans
Pelicans at Grizzlies – 8:00 pm ET
Ja Morant will be out for the Grizzlies tonight, so I’m expecting a good game for Spencer. In the last 10 games that Spencer has played without Morant, he’s averaging 9.5 assists per game on 13.8 potential assists per game. Spencer has also had at least 11 dimes in the last three he has played without Morant, and Vince Williams Jr. played in those games. That said, while Memphis has another backcourt option, Spencer is still doing his thing.
Spencer is also going up against a miserable defense. New Orleans is 29th in the NBA defending at the rim, 29th defending in transition, and 27th guarding catch-and-shoot jumpers. There should be plenty of good looks to go around for the Grizzlies, and it’s Spencer’s job to find them.
