Noteworthy OptaAI Player Prop Edges for Friday
Below you’ll find some of the projections that stood out when looking at our OptaAI NBA Player Prop projections. Subscribers have access to hundreds of others on a daily basis!
Josh Hart Under 7.5 Rebounds (-121) vs. Heat
Heat at Knicks – 7:00 pm ET
Hart has had seven or fewer rebounds in four consecutive games, and he’s now averaging only 6.2 rebounds per game. However, his total for tonight is up at 7.5, so the oddsmakers believe the wing will get back to hitting the glass hard. Will he do it? Our OptaAI projections don’t think so. They have Hart finishing with 5.34 rebounds.
Jaden McDaniels Over 14.5 Points (-126) vs. Kings
Kings at Timberwolves – 8:00 pm ET
Our OptaAI player prop projections have McDaniels scoring 17.67 points in tonight’s meeting with the Kings. Sacramento is one of the worst defensive teams in the league, so this is a good matchup for the Minnesota wing. However, the Timberwolves are big favorites and this game could get out of hand. That might get in the way of a good play.
Draymond Green Over 4.5 Assists (-144) vs. Spurs
Warriors at Spurs – 9:30 pm ET
Green is averaging 5.5 assists per game this season, which is a good amount higher than his assist total of 4.5. However, he did have only four dimes in a meeting with the Spurs on Wednesday. That makes tonight an interesting game for him as a passer, but our OptaAI projections have him going for 5.69 in another meeting with San Antonio.
Friday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.
OG Anunoby Over 20.5 Points (-104) & Alt Points 25+ (+225 – 0.25 units) vs. Heat
Heat at Knicks – 7:00 pm ET
Jalen Brunson will miss tonight’s game with a Grade 1 ankle sprain. That means there’s more opportunities to go around for the rest of the Knicks. Well, Anunoby took advantage of his time playing without Brunson last season. In the 16 games the talented wing played without Brunson, he scored at least 22 points in 13 of them. Anunoby also happened to score at least 25 points in six of them.
This is a different New York offense. Mike Brown doesn’t have as much standing around, and there’s less hero-ball. But somebody is going to rise to the occasion with Brunson out. There’s no reason it can’t be Anunoby.
It’s also worth noting that Miami is first in the NBA in pace of play (106.70). The Heat are going to look to get the Knicks running. That should benefit all of the players in this game when it comes to the numbers.
Reed Sheppard Over 10.5 Points (-104) vs. Trail Blazers
Blazers at Rockets – 8:00 pm ET
Sheppard had 21 points in 25 minutes in Houston’s blowout win over Washington on Wednesday. He probably won’t have as big of a role in this meeting with Portland, as this game should be way more competitive. However, with Sheppard shooting 50.0% from 3 on 5.6 attempts per game, Ime Udoka is always going to find minutes for him. His floor spacing is extremely important for this Rockets team.
Sheppard also comes into this game after having scored 12 or more points in five of the last six games, and he has scored at least 16 points in three straight. Of course, the Blazers will get up and guard Sheppard physically. Portland has some feisty on-ball guys. But this total is just a little too low. Sheppard should be able to make his mark.
Derik Queen Alt Assists 4+ (+160) vs. Lakers
Lakers at Pelicans – 8:00 pm ET
Queen has played at least 25 minutes in each of the last four games. Well, if the rookie hits that minute mark again, I think there’s a good chance he finishes with at least four dimes. Queen is averaging 4.8 adjusted assists per game over the last four contests, and he has also had at least four dimes in three of the last five. He’s just a wonderful passer and is doing a great job as New Orleans’ playmaking hub.
The Lakers are also just 21st in the NBA in defensive rating (116.4), so this isn’t the greatest defensive team in the world. Los Angeles is also giving up 27.4 assists per game on the year. Only eight teams in the league are allowing more.
