Noteworthy OptaAI Player Prop Edges for Friday

Below you’ll find some of the projections that stood out when looking at our OptaAI NBA Player Prop projections. Subscribers have access to hundreds of others on a daily basis!

Pascal Siakam Over 3.5 Assists (-154) vs. Cavaliers

Pacers at Cavaliers – 7:00 pm ET

The OptaAI player prop projections have Siakam finishing with 4.95 assists tonight, meaning a nice edge to the Over on his assist total of 3.5. Of course, this is a bit of a juicy play, as the odds aren’t favorable whatsoever. But it is worth noting that Siakam had seven dimes last game. He also averaged 3.8 against the Cavaliers in last year’s playoff series.

Kyshawn George Over 5.5 Rebounds (-138) vs. Raptors

Wizards at Raptors – 7:30 pm ET

George is averaging 6.2 rebounds per game this season. He has also had at least six boards in three straight games, and he has had at least seven boards in two of the last three. Tonight, our projections have him finishing with 8.55 rebounds against Toronto. It isn’t crazy to think he’ll be very active on the glass, but you will have to hope the Raptors don’t blow the Wizards out.

Stephen Curry Over 27.5 Points (-110) vs. Trail Blazers

Blazers at Warriors – 10:00 pm ET

Curry is coming off a 34-point performance against the Magic. The superstar has now had at least 34 in three of the last four games. Our OptaAI projections have him going for 31.84 in tonight’s meeting with the Blazers, so they like him to keep this run going. If Jrue Holiday doesn’t play, that might be a modest projection.

Friday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.

Coby White Over 2.5 Made 3s (-118) & 4+ Alt Made 3s (+215 – 0.25 units) vs. Heat

Heat at Bulls – 8:00 pm ET

White has looked great since returning to action two games ago. He’s averaging 26.0 points per game thus far, despite playing only 29.0 minutes per game. Tonight, if White ditches the questionable tag and takes the floor, there’s a chance he torches the Heat. Miami plays at the fastest pace in basketball, and the team is giving up more 3-point attempts (45.5) than anybody in the league. That should play into White’s hands, as he’s an absolute gunner from deep.

White has also made at least three 3s in both of the games he has played this year, and he hit five against Portland last game. On top of that, White knocked down three 3s when he faced the Heat in the Play-In Tournament last year.

Also, while White is questionable for this one, you shouldn’t be worried about his health. The Bulls just aren’t playing the guard in back-to-back games yet, so they’re deciding whether they want him to go against Miami or Washington (tomorrow).

Derik Queen Over 3.5 Assists (+120) & Alt Assists 5+ (+210 – 0.25 units) & Alt Assists 6+ (+540 – 0.15 units) vs. Mavericks

Pelicans at Mavericks – 8:30 pm ET

On today’s episode of Hardwood Handicappers, I mentioned that I’d be jumping on Queen if I can find him at plus-money odds. Well, shortly after recording the show, Queen moved to +120 to record at least four assists. That triggered a play for me, plus I’m also sprinkling a little something on him to finish with at least five assists and six assists.

Queen has had at least four assists in four of the last five games. He has also hit the mark in six of the last nine. On top of that, Queen has had four games with at least five assists, plus three games with at least six. Also, over the last nine games, Queen is averaging 5.2 adjusted assists per game. That suggests he’s setting his teammates up for high-quality looks, and his assist counts could be higher with some better luck.

Tonight, I think we’re seeing plus-money odds on Queen to finish with at least four assists because the Mavericks are a top-five team in the league defensively. They also have some trees down low, which theoretically could make things tougher on Queen. However, I actually think that Dallas having shot-blockers could mean more passes from the talented rookie. That said, I’m rolling the dice on him to continue dishing.

Alperen Sengun Over 23.5 Points (-104 – 1.5 units) vs. Nuggets

Nuggets at Rockets – 9:30 pm ET

Sengun has scored at least 25 points in each of the last three games, so he’s coming into this one playing some good ball. I also happen to like this matchup for the big man. While Sengun struggled a bit with Denver last season — he averaged only 17.0 points per game in three contests — we saw him dominate Nikola Jokic at EuroBasket over the summer. In an upset win for Turkey over Serbia, Sengun finished with 28 points and 13 rebounds. That was a game that was shorter in length than an NBA game, and the Euro style of basketball is more physical. That said, it should be a little easier for Sengun to score in this one.

I also think the Rockets are going to be pretty relentless about attacking Jokic here. That’s not because Jokic is a bad defender or anything. The Serbian has really improved throughout his career, and he’s actually quite reliable on that end. However, playing through Sengun could tire Jokic out later in this game.
