Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Thursday, May 4:

Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors (-6, 227) – Game 2

We had the over on Dennis Schroder’s point total in Game 1, but we’re not ready to go away from it here. The number for this game still feels a bit low, as Schroder scored 19 points in 31 minutes on Tuesday. Schroder isn’t a lock to play 30 minutes every night, but it feels like this is a series in which he will come close to touching that number more often than not. Los Angeles just needs a guy with his speed and tenacity on the perimeter against Golden State.

Schroder’s 19 points in Game 1 were especially impressive when you factor in that the 29-year-old didn’t hit a single shot from 3. That’s something that should be there for him the rest of the series, but he’ll also continue to make plays at the rim. We noted before Game 1 that Schroder should be successful attacking the paint against the Warriors, as they do not have a rim protector like Jaren Jackson Jr. on their team. That proved to be exactly right, and Schroder also made quite a few mid-range shots.

It’s just hard not to like Schroder to score at least nine points in this game. There are more important mouths to feed in this Los Angeles offense, but the Lakers have been a selfless team all season. Even LeBron James seems content being a second or third option, at times. So, if the Warriors are struggling to contain Schroder, the Lakers are going to encourage the German guard to go and do his thing. And Los Angeles will be even more eager to reward him with touches if he continues to play good point-of-attack defense on Golden State’s tremendous perimeter scoring options.

Bet: Schroder Over 8.5 Points (-130)
