Now that the weekend is here, it’s time to simplify the grind. Instead of splitting sides/totals and player props into separate pieces, my weekend columns will bring everything under one roof — a streamlined look at my favorite bets for the day’s slate. Fewer words, hopefully the same results. Keep reading for my NBA picks and predictions for Sunday, January 25.

NBA Best Bets Today (Sides/Totals)

Grizzlies -3.5 (-110) vs. Nuggets

Nuggets at Grizzlies – 3:30 pm ET

The Grizzlies will be without Ja Morant for the next couple of weeks, but they have looked just fine with Cam Spencer running the show. That said, the Nuggets are probably in worse shape here. Denver will be without Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Cameron Johnson, and Christian Braun. The team also has Jamal Murray, Jonas Valanciunas, and Peyton Watson listed as questionable. All of that makes it hard not to like Memphis, even if this team has been struggling a bit lately. I’m just not sure the Nuggets will be the more talented team on the floor, and playing in Memphis is never easy. Also, under Tuomas Iisalo, the Grizzlies are 7-4 both straight-up and against the spread as home favorites of 6 or fewer points.

NBA Player Props Today

Ryan Rollins Over 26.5 Points + Assists (-115 – 1.5 units) vs. Mavericks

Mavericks at Bucks – 7:00 pm ET

Rollins hasn’t played as well as expected lately, but Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Porter Jr. are out tonight. That means we’re back to the situation that was highly profitable to start the year. In the six games that Rollins has played without that duo, the talented guard is averaging 24.8 points and 7.8 assists per game. He also went Over a total of 26.5 points and assists in five of those contests. With that in mind, I’m going right back to this — especially with the Mavericks being a team that can struggle against guards that get to the basket.

Julian Champagnie Over 10.5 Points (-115) vs. Pelicans

Pelicans at Spurs – 7:00 pm ET

Champagnie won’t have the highest usage rate on this Spurs team, but he’s such a good shooter that it really doesn’t matter. Champagnie has scored at least 11 points in 10 of the last 11 games, and he has actually gone for at least 20 points in three of the games. Champagnie is just an absolute flamethrower and this is a game in which he should show up. The Pelicans are 28th in the NBA defending above-the-break 3s, where Champagnie scores 51% of his points. I like him to light New Orleans up tonight, and I also think he’ll make some plays in transition. He’s scoring 3.2 points per game in transition this year, and the Pelicans are the second-worst team in the league when it comes to getting back.
