Thursday Night Football best bets: Cowboys at Titans

The Cowboys head to Nashville as a double-digit favorite against Malik Willis and the Titans. Dallas needs a win to keep its hopes of winning the NFC East alive, and Tennessee needs a win to snap a five-game losing streak and get something positive rolling into next week’s huge game for the AFC South against the Jaguars. What do our analysts think about this one?

Throughout the season, our VSiN experts will combine to give their best bets on every game. Check back for picks for the rest of Week 17 as we get closer to kickoff.

Dallas Cowboys (-10, 40) at Tennessee Titans

Adam Burke: Over his last seven games, Dak Prescott has thrown 17 touchdown passes and had at least two of them in six of those games. The Titans are a stingy run defense, holding opponents to just 3.5 yards per carry, but they haven’t found the same measure of success against the pass. On a short week, after a really emotional game against the Eagles, my guess is that the Cowboys want to be aggressive and attack early.

Attacking early means using Prescott’s arm to build a lead. Playing from in front forces the Titans to use Malik Willis’s arm more often, which hasn’t really worked out well to this point. As more props get posted on game day, you may want to look at some alt props for Prescott in terms of first-half touchdowns or first-half performance.

For now, it’s pretty simple to just look at OVER 1.5 passing touchdowns at -140 and think there’s a good chance he gets it by halftime and we don’t even have to sweat.

Pick: Dak Prescott OVER 1.5 Passing TDs (-140)
