NFL Odds Week 8

It’s hard to believe that we have almost made it to the midpoint of the 2026 NFL regular season. Maybe it’s even harder to believe that Sunday is the first day of November. And don’t forget to fall back with your clocks this weekend! That extra hour of sleep might turn into more since we don’t have an early Europe game to worry about here in Week 8. This is just a straightforward schedule with Thursday Night Football, a standard Sunday, and then Monday Night Football.

While it’s standard in that regard, only six of the 14 games are division matchups. The Saints, Giants, 49ers, and Texans are all on the bye. That means we have some fairly quirky matchups to think about and some teams embracing some travel.

Take advantage of our Sports Equinox special offer – one of the best of the year – gives you an all-access pass to everything we do for $120 from now through May 1. Monday is the Sports Equinox, with Game 3 of the World Series, MNF, and NBA and NHL regular-season games.

Here is the Week 8 NFL Odds Report:

Panthers at Packers (-4.5, 48)

Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video)

There were some really ugly data points last week in the NFL, but perhaps none were as ugly as Carolina getting rocked at home by Tampa Bay. Baker Mayfield returned for the Bucs and the game was a total no-contest, as the Panthers lost by 30. Bryce Young only threw for 163 yards and the defense, which gave up 59 points earlier this season to the Bears, got exposed again. Meanwhile, the Packers lost a tough one to a divisional rival. It’s a tough short-week turnaround for both of these teams here. Green Bay’s reasonable effort against the Lions moved this line from the lookahead number of 3 to 3.5 and then further to 4.5.

Panthers-Packers Matchup

Vikings at Lions (-3, 46)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

Minnesota stayed perfect on the season as the defense ruled the day once again versus the Colts. At some point, the Vikings offense will catch up with them and you can’t help but wonder if this might be the week against Detroit. While the Lions were held to 20 points by the Packers, they’ve been scoring at a good clip throughout the season otherwise. With something resembling status quo for these two teams in Week 7, we didn’t really see a big adjustment here, as the Lions went from -2.5 with extra vig to -3 at even money per DraftKings right after beating Green Bay.

Vikings-Lions Matchup

Raiders at Jets (-1, 44)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

The Dolphins are no longer winless thanks to the Jets, so this is a fascinating game from a betting standpoint. Losing to Miami clearly hurts your public perception in a big way. Meanwhile, the Raiders have to travel cross-country and play an early kickoff in the Meadowlands after getting pummeled by the Rams at Allegiant Stadium. The 35-21 final wasn’t really indicative of how that game played out. But, there’s also far less shame in losing to the Rams than there is in losing to the Jets. Could the Raiders, who have dropped four in a row, actually be a road favorite?! From a lookahead standpoint,

Raiders-Jets Matchup

Falcons at Buccaneers (-1.5, 45)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

Baker Mayfield’s return definitely ups the team valuation of the Bucs, but it seems as though that was expected with the lookahead number at -1.5 and no adjustment in light of Week 7. The total here is pretty interesting, given that Tampa nearly got to this number themselves in the win over the Panthers. Perhaps one data point hasn’t changed too many minds on the Bucs, especially since they weren’t very good to start the season with Baker. Also, the Falcons dealt the 49ers their first loss of the season and that has to count for something.

Falcons-Buccaneers Matchup

Ravens at Bills (-3.5, 53.5)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

The Bengals came out of the bye week slowly, but outscored the Ravens 35-0 in the second half. What will Buffalo do to Baltimore coming out of the bye? The Bills were one of four teams to not play last week. Baltimore has some really big problems at this point and they are getting really hard to ignore. The Bills opened -2.5 with extra juice on the lookahead number, but that got pushed to 3 and then 3.5. Obviously the status of Lamar Jackson will play a role in how this line moves and how bettors approach it, but the Ravens have issues.

Ravens-Bills Matchup

Colts at Jaguars (-7.5, 47)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

Jacksonville is back in Duval County here after a couple of games across the pond in London and then the bye week. While the Jags were resting up, the Colts were busy falling further off the pace in the AFC South. The week began with the firing of GM Chris Ballard and finished with a putrid offensive performance against the league’s best defense. Because Jacksonville didn’t play, this line hasn’t really moved one way or the other from where it opened, though there was enough Colts interest to take them to +7.5 -115 last week. Will we see any of that interest now that game week is here?

Colts-Jaguars Matchup

Titans at Bengals (-10, 47)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

Godspeed to those who are going to try the Bengals in Survivor next week. Cincinnati has ruined many Survivor entries over the years, but the Titans lost to the Browns and the Bengals had a second-half uprising against the Ravens once they got their legs back under them. This is the biggest favorite role of the week, kind of a shocking development given where the Chargers are at right now and how much more talented the Rams are. Most of the market was out to 10.5 on this game on Sunday night after the lookahead line opened 10.

Titans-Bengals Matchup

Browns at Steelers (-4, 39)

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

The Browns look like a fade team. Their 5-2 record includes a lot of time spent trailing in the game. The win over the Titans was one of the only ones where they’ve held a lead for a good chunk of time and even that was precarious against one of the league’s worst teams. If you really dig into the numbers and evaluate the game state, they’re a hard team to want to back. But, here the Steelers are coming home from Paris to host an upstart division rival that is winning games. The lookahead number here had the Steelers -4.5. They were mostly 3.5 on Sunday night, for what it’s worth. Circa was showing 4.

Browns-Steelers Matchup

Chargers at Rams (-7, 45)

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (FOX)

“At” is a loose term here, as these two teams are roommates at SoFi Stadium. They’ll be in their own locker rooms and will be supported by their fans. Though, I do think that the Chargers don’t have nearly as much fan support these days. For as disappointing of a start to the season as this has been for the Rams, at least they aren’t winless. LA opted not to make a move with Jim Harbaugh during the bye week, so we’ll see if his team comes back re-energized and refocused or not. The lookahead number on this game was 7.5, but moved down to 7. Some shops still had the 7.5 as of Sunday night.

Chargers-Rams Matchup

Chiefs (-1.5, 42) at Broncos

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

The first road favorite on the board here, as the Chiefs head to the Mile High City to take on the Broncos. Denver is up to 5-2 and had one of its stronger showings of the season against the Cardinals in a 30-16 win. Bo Nix used his legs and looked more comfortable running the offense, as things have clearly improved since Sean Payton took over the play-calling. There is a ton of familiarity between these two teams, so I think this line should be pretty tight and not move a whole lot. Keep an eye on Patrick Mahomes, though, as he took some abuse against the Seahawks.

Chiefs-Broncos Matchup

Patriots (-7.5, 44.5) at Dolphins

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

Just our second road favorite and our only two road favorites for Week 8. New England is on extra rest off of Thursday Night Football against the Bears. With Miami’s first win of the season, we did see an adjustment in the lookahead number here, with the Patriots dropping from 8.5 to 7.5. It’s not a huge move and 8 is hardly considered to be a key number, but Miami looking better did get some recognition.

Patriots-Dolphins Matchup

Bears at Seahawks (-3, 46.5)

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Even though the Seahawks are off to a bit of a slow start in their quest to repeat as Super Bowl champs, this is still a dangerous team. That said, they’re coming off of Sunday Night Football to face a well-rested Bears team that has looked very dynamic on offense since Caleb Williams got back in the lineup. You always want to be wary of the trendy dog, but Daaaaaa Bears are probably going to be a pretty trendy underdog here, even though the Seahawks played maybe their most complete game of the season against Kansas City, at least on defense.
