NHL Predictions – Expert Picks on Monday, March 10:
Here are tonight’s NHL predictions:
Edmonton Oilers (-190, 6.5) at Buffalo Sabres
7 p.m. ET
With the additions of Jake Walman and Max Jones, the new-look Edmonton Oilers played with some nastiness in their 5-4 win over Dallas on Saturday. Wallman had a big hit on Mikko Rantanen, along with one assist, and Jones had five hits. Offensively, Zach Hyman chipped in with a pair of goals and Connor McDavid dazzled with a goal of the year candidate. Tonight, they face a Sabres team that has lost six straight and given up four goals or more in each of the losses. Edmonton continues to be one of the best first-period teams to the Over, going 17-3 in their last 20 games. Buffalo’s JJ Peterka has three goals in five games against Oilers netminder Stuart Skinner.
NHL Predictions: Sabres/Oilers 1st period Over 1.5 (-158) – 1.5 units
Oilers TT Over 3.5 (-128) – 1 unit
Zach Hyman ATG (+165) – ¼ unit
JJ Peterka ATG (+210) – ¼ unit
Chicago Blackhawks at Colorado Avalanche (-455, 6.5)
9 p.m. ET
This game highlights my most successful systems play this season, as we have a favorite of (-400+). In the 20 games this season with a betting favorite of (-400) or greater the underdog has scored a goal 16 times in the first period. There has been a goal in the first 10 minutes of the game in 14 of the 20 games, the first period Over (1.5) has cashed 13 times, and both teams have scored in the opening twenty minutes, 10 times.
This is the third meeting of the season between the two teams and Chicago has won both games by a combined score of 8-3. The Blackhawks have scored a first period goal in each game. The goal in the first ten minutes prop, along with the first period Over (1.5), and both teams to score also have cashed in both games.
NHL Predictions: Blackhawks 1st period Over ½ goal (-105) – 2 units
Blackhawks/Avs 1st period Over 1.5 goals (-165) – 1 unit
1st period Both Teams to Score (+160) – 1 unit
