NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets.
Anaheim Ducks at New York Rangers
Anaheim (+126) at New York Rangers (-152) – Total 6.5 (Over, -114)
7 p.m. ET
The Ducks enter tonight’s game off back-to-back 4-2 home losses to Calgary and Boston. But now they hit the road where they are a perfect 3-0 and have won each of their last three meetings against the Rangers, scoring four or more goals in each of the wins. Anaheim has scored four goals or more in all three of their road wins this season. This is the front end of a back-to-back for Anaheim, who face the Islanders on Tuesday.
Beckett Sennecke leads the Ducks with five goals, and three of his goals have opened the scoring for Anaheim this season. Cutter Gauthier has five goals in his last three games versus the Blueshirts, along with 4+ shots on goal in each of those games. Alexis Lafreniere has gone back-to-back games without a goal but had seven goals in his previous four games. Adam Fox leads the Rangers this season with nine assists. He has picked up an “apple” in seven of his last nine games and six of his last eight (11 assists) head-to-head meetings with the Ducks. Fox has had 2+ assists in four of the six games he picked up a helper against Anaheim.
NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Anaheim Ducks ML (+126) – ½ unit
Anaheim Ducks Team Total Over 3 (+100) – ½ unit
Cutter Gauthier 3+ SOG/Fox assist (+123) – 1 unit
Bennett Sennecke 1st Anaheim goal (+650) – .10 units
Cutter Gauthier 1st Anaheim goal (+600) – .10 units
Bennett Sennecke anytime goal (+230) – ¼ unit
Cutter Gauthier anytime goal (+180) – ¼ unit
Alexis Lafreniere anytime goal (+165) – ¼ unit
San Jose Sharks at Toronto Maple Leafs
San Jose (+110) at Toronto (-135) – Total 6.5 (Under, -130)
7:30 p.m. ET
The Sharks are 4-3-1 to start the season but have yet to win a game in regulation. The Maple Leafs have just three wins in nine games to start the season and sit in last place in the Atlantic Division. The Maple Leafs have given up four or more goals in each of their last four losses, but five of their six losses have been by one goal. One of the big storylines for tonight will be the top picks in this year’s NHL Draft facing each other for the first time. The Maple Leafs’ Gavin McKenna, selected first overall, and the Sharks’ Ivar Stenberg, selected second overall. McKenna has been a good bet to cash his 2+ shots on goal prop, hitting this in three of four and four of his last six games. Stenberg has six points to start the season, but five of those have come on the power play, and Toronto has the number one penalty killing unit in the league (27/28). Like McKenna, he has been a good bet to cash his shots on goal prop (Over 1.5) as well, hitting in four of his last five games. Other player props on the card. Macklin Celebrini leads the Sharks with 11 points in six games and has four multi-point games. Auston Matthews has 14 goals in 16 games against the Sharks.
The Sharks have won each of the last four meetings against the Maple Leafs, with three of them going past regulation. Three of the last six Toronto games have gone past regulation, and five of the Sharks’ eight games have resulted in “bonus hockey.”
The goaltending matchup will be Yaroslav Askarov for San Jose and Sergei Bobrovsky for the Leafs.
NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
San Jose Sharks ML (+110) – ½ unit
San Jose Sharks Team Total Over 3.5 (+124) – ½ unit
Stenberg/McKenna each 2+ shots on goal (+181) – 1 unit
Macklin Celebrini 2+ points (+140) – ½ unit
Celebrini point/Celebrini 3+ shots on goal/Over 6.5 (+150) – 1 unit
Auston Matthews anytime goal (+130) – 1 unit
Regulation Draw (+350) – .10
