NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets.
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
Philadelphia (+180) at Tampa Bay (-220) – Total 5.5 (Over, -125)
7 p.m. ET
The Flyers head into Tampa tonight in search of their first win of the season. Philly has been outscored 13-4 and now faces a Tampa team that they dropped all three meetings with last season, outscored 17-3. After losing their first game to the Rangers, Tampa bounced back with a 3-1 win over the Washington Capitals.
Dan Vladar gets the start for Philadelphia tonight, and as of the time of this writing, we don’t have confirmation on which goalie starts for Tampa. It would not surprise me if Dennis Hildeby gets his first start as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Hildeby is 2-0 lifetime against the Flyers (1.44 GAA, .946 save percentage).
I am going to pass on the side and total and instead will focus on player props. One Flyers prop that I am on is Tyson Foerster to record at least two shots on goal. Foerster has cashed this prop in each of his last six meetings against Tampa. On the Tampa side, Jake Guentzel and Brayden Point both have four goals in five games on 16 shots versus Dan Vladar. Brandon Hagel has nine shots on goal (6,3) in the first two games of the season.
NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Tyson Foerster 2+ shots on goal (-145) – ½ unit
Brandon Hagel 3+ shots on goal (-140) – ½ unit
Brayden Point anytime goal (+175) – ½ unit
Jake Guentzel anytime goal (+175) – ½ unit
Ottawa Senators at Boston Bruins
Ottawa Senators (-120) at Boston Bruins (+100) – Total 5.5 (Over, -130)
7:30 p.m. ET
The Bruins return home after a 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Ottawa, the last team to open the 2026-27 season, came away with a 3-2 win at Toronto over the Maple Leafs. The Sens will be without defenseman Jake Sanderson tonight. Sanderson left Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury after playing just 4:29.
It will be a battle between two good friends at opposite sides of the rink, with Linus Ullmark getting the start for Ottawa and Jeremy Swayman for the Bruins. Swayman has just four wins in 11 decisions against Ottawa in his career, with a goals against average of 3.55 and a sub .900 save percentage. Linus Ullmark has just four wins in 10 decisions against his former Boston team, but he has a solid 2.49 goals against average. I will pass on both the side and total in this game as well and stick with the player props.
When it comes to Sens props, I will be focusing on their top line of Warren Foegele, Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson. Batherson has six goals and 15 assists in his career versus Boston (assists in four of the last five meetings and nine of 11). He also has four goals on 11 shots versus Jeremy Swayman. Foegele has three goals in six head-to-head meetings versus Swayman, and Stutzle has seven goals on 29 shots (24%) versus the Bruins netminder. It’s been a nice start to the season for newcomer J.J. Peterka (two goals, three games), who has scored three goals in four career games versus Ullmark, and Pavel Zacha has six goals in 12 games versus the Sens goalie.
NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Tim Stutzle anytime goal (+210) – ½ unit
Warren Foegele anytime goal (+450) – ½ unit
Drake Batherson anytime goal (+165) – ½ unit
Drake Batherson Over ½ assist (+165) – ½ unit
Pavel Zacha anytime goal (+340) – ¼ unit
JJ Peterka anytime goal (+250) – ¼ unit
San Jose Sharks at Dallas Stars
San Jose Sharks (+165) at Dallas Stars (-200) – Total 6.5 (Under, -120)
8 p.m. ET
The Sharks are 2-0 to start the season, thanks to overtime wins over the Florida Panthers and LA Kings. The Stars are at the opposite end of the spectrum, having lost their first two games and scoring just one goal (4-0, 2-1). Maybe the Sharks are just what the Dallas Stars need to turn things around, having won nine of the last 11 head-to-head meetings and five straight on home ice.
Macklin Celebrini is continuing where he left off from last season’s 115-point campaign with five assists in the first two games. He assisted on five of the Sharks’ first nine goals (56%). He is still looking for his first career goal against Dallas, though he has six assists in five career games versus the Stars. Collin Graf, in search of his first point of the season, has three goals in two games against Jake Oettinger, who gets the start tonight for Dallas. I do believe the Stars offense comes to life tonight. Jason Robertson has 10 goals in 15 games versus the Sharks, Wyatt Johnston has nine goals in 12 games, and Justin Hryckowian has two goals in three games against the Sharks.
NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Macklin Celebrini 2+ points (+154) – ½ unit
Collin Graf anytime goal (+600) – ¼ unit
Jason Robertson anytime goal (+135) – ¼ unit
Justin Hryckowian anytime goal (+400) – ¼ unit
Wyatt Johnston anytime goal (+140) – ¼ unit
Nick Robertson (Pitt)/Jason Robertson goal parlay (+758) – .10 units
