NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Here are today’s NHL predictions and best bets.
Florida Panthers (27-20-3) at Chicago Blackhawks (21-22-8)
Panthers (-130) at Blackhawks (+110) – Total 6 (Under, -120)
7 p.m. ET
The Florida Panthers come into Chicago off a pair of wins over Winnipeg (shootout) and Minnesota (overtime), with both games going past regulation. The Blackhawks are also coming off a pair of games that needed extra time to determine a winner. Chicago defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in a shootout, 4-3 and dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blackhawks have won each of the last three meetings at home versus Florida, limiting the Panthers to two goals or fewer in each of the three wins. The home team has won eight straight in this series.
The goaltending matchup is Daniil Tarasov for Florida and former Panthers’ goalie Spencer Martin for Chicago. Martin faced his former team on opening night, a 3-2 Florida win. I like this spot for Chicago. It’s back-to-back and three games in four days for the Panthers and coming off a pair of games that went past regulation. This being a game that starts before 8 p.m. ET, I will also be on the full game Under. This season, Sunday games that start before 8 p.m ET are 43-16-2 to the Under. For those of you who like the Over, shop around, 5.5 is widely available. The Blackhawks have bumped Oliver Moore to the top line, and his anytime goal prop (+600 at BetMGM) has tremendous value.
