NHL Predictions and Best Bets:

Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets.

San Jose Sharks at Ottawa Senators

San Jose (+110) at Ottawa (-135) – Total 6 (Over, -125)

7 p.m. ET

Talk about a tough spot for the Ottawa Senators to be in when they face the San Jose Sharks. The Sens are coming off a highly emotional 5-1 victory over their former captain, Brady Tkachuk, and the Florida Panthers. San Jose is coming off a 4-3 overtime win over Montreal on Tuesday as they battled back from down 3-1 to get this game to overtime. In fact, the Sharks are the only team without a regulation win, winning all five games in overtime or a shootout. The Sharks on the money line is one of my favorite plays of the day.

A couple of player props for me. Macklin Celebrini has had five multi-point games this season and has been a factor on 52% of the Sharks’ goals this season. Celebrini has had 3+ shots on goal in eight of his last 10 games and 5+ in three straight and four of five. The Sharks’ Tyler Toffoli has had 2+ shots on goal in five of his last six games against Ottawa. One Ottawa prop will be on a Fabian Zetterlund anytime goal. The former Sharks forward has scored (two goals) in each of the two games he has faced his former team.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Toffoli 2+ shots on goal/Celebrini 3+ shots on goal (+148) – 1 unit
Macklin Celebrini 4+ shots on goal (+110) – ½ unit
Macklin Celebrini 2+ points (+190) – ½ unit
Fabian Zetterlund anytime goal (+310) – .10 units
San Jose Sharks ML (+110) – 2 units
San Jose Sharks TT over 3 (-105) – 1 unit

New York Rangers at Toronto Maple Leafs

New York Rangers (-110) at Toronto (-110) – Total 6.5 (Under, -125)

7 p.m. ET

You may be familiar with the expression, “home is where the heart is.” That clearly defines the Rangers at the start of this young season. New York is a perfect 6-0-0 at home but has just one win in five road games (1-3-1) and has been outscored away from MSG, 14-4. The Maple Leafs are riding a two-game winning streak following wins over the Columbus Blue Jackets and San Jose Sharks. Toronto has won four of the last five head-to-head meetings. Despite some of those numbers that have me leaning toward Toronto, I am going to stay with some player props. The Leafs Jack Roslovic, Easton Cowan and Kirill Marchenko each have had 2+ shots on goal in 10 of their last 11 regular season games. Auston Matthews has been on a heater with goals in back-to-back, five of six, and seven of his last nine games. Rangers defenseman Adam Fox has picked up an assist in eight of 10 games this season.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Adam Fox 1+ assists (+104) – ½ unit
Auston Matthews anytime goal (+130) – ½ unit
Roslovic/Marchenko 2+ shots on goal (+106) – ½ unit
Roslovic/Cowen 2+ shots on goal (+180) – ½ unit
Marchenko/Cowan 2+ shots on goal (+134) – ½ unit

Nashville Predators at Boston Bruins

Nashville (+120) at Boston (-145) – Total 6 (Over, -120)

7 p.m. ET

The Bruins return home from a successful road trip (3-0-1), coming away with a possible seven of eight points after ending the roadie with a 3-2 overtime loss at Dallas and currently own the top spot in the Atlantic Division. Nashville has just three wins in their first eight games (3-2-3). The Preds have a pair of 5-2 victories sandwiched around three overtime losses and a 5-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Nashville has won three of the last four head-to-head meetings with the Bruins, with the only loss coming in overtime. I am not crazy about laying a price with Boston after coming off a solid western road trip and do lean toward Nashville winning this game.

There are some player props that interest me, and they start with Nashville’s top line of Steven Stamkos, Ryan O’Reilly and Filip Forsberg (who also play together on the number one power play). Stamkos has five goals in seven games versus Bruins starting goalie Jeremy Swayman, and there is plus money available to parlay O’Reilly and Forsberg for a point. The Bruins’ David Pastrnak has registered 3+ shots on goal in eight of 10 games this season and in eight consecutive games against the Preds. He has also put up 4+ shots on goal in seven of the last eight head-to-head meetings and 5+ shots on goal in six of his last eight against Nashville. Charlie McAvoy has put up at least 2+ shots on goal in six straight versus Nashville and in three of the B’s last four games.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Nashville Money Line (+120) – ¼ unit
McAvoy 2+ shots/Pastrnak 3+ shots (+139) – 1 unit
David Pastrnak 4+ shots on goal (+100) – ½ unit
David Pastrnak 5+ shots on goal (+215) – ¼ unit
Steven Stamkos anytime goal (+190) – ½ unit
O’Reilly/Forsberg point parlay (+114) – 1 unit

Los Angeles Kings at New York Islanders

Los Angeles (-110) at New York Islanders (-110) – Total 5.5 (Over, -115)

7:30 p.m. ET

The Los Angeles Kings last won a game in regulation with a 5-2 win at Washington on Tuesday, powered by two goals from Adrian Kempe. No reason for Kempe not to make it goals in back-to-back games, as he has goals in five of the last six head-to-head meetings against the Islanders. If Kempe scores, there’s a good chance that Artemi Panarin, who plays with Kempe on the Kings’ top line and top power play, factors in the goal. I will parlay the two for a point (-109). Panarin has had 3+ shots on goal in seven of his last 8 games overall and eight of his last nine versus the Islanders. Trevor Moore has had 2+ shots on goal in five of seven overall and five of his last seven head-to-head meetings against the Isles.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Adrian Kempe anytime goal (+190) – ¼ unit
Kempe/Panarin point parlay (-109) -1 unit
Panarin 3+ shots/Moore 2+ shots (+182) – 1 unit

Utah Mammoth at Seattle Kraken

Utah (-175) at Seattle (+145) – Total 6.5 (-110)

10 p.m. ET

The Mammoth come into Seattle winners of four of their past five and will look to put together back-to-back wins for the third time this season. Utah has had win streaks of two and three games and has yet to lose consecutive games this season. The Mammoth have won each of the last four meetings versus the Kraken, scoring 5+ goals in each of the wins. This season Utah has scored 4+ goals in each of their seven victories, and Seattle has surrendered 4+ goals in three of their four losses. Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther make up two-thirds of the Mammoth’s second line and play together on the number one power play unit. Guenther has points (eight) in each of the last four meetings against the Kraken and Cooley has points (six) in three of the last four head-to-head meetings.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets:
Utah Mammoth Team Total Over 3.5 (-120) – 1 unit
Cooley/Guenther point parlay (-109) – 1 unit

Best of the Rest:

Arseny Gritsyuk (New Jersey) – anytime goal (+300) – ¼ unit
Arseny Gritsyuk 2+ shots/Timo Meier (Jersey) 3+ shots (+142) – 1 unit
Dougie Hamilton (Jersey) anytime goal (+500) – ¼ unit
Jack Hughes (Jersey) anytime goal (+150) – ¼ unit
Matt Boldy (Minn) 1st Wild goal of the game (+500) – .10 units
Matt Boldy (Minn) anytime goal (+140) – ½ unit
Blake Coleman (Minn) anytime goal (+270) – ¼ unit
