Montreal Canadiens at Washington Capitals
Montreal (+105) at Washington (-125) – Total 6.5 (Over, -115)

It’s the first-ever meeting of the Hutson brothers, Lane for Montreal and Cole for Washington, as the Canadiens travel to Washington to play the Capitals. Both teams are on the second half of a back-to-back. Montreal is coming off its second consecutive shootout win, beating Buffalo 4-3 last night. The Capitals enter tonight off losses to Seattle and then Carolina last night, having been outscored 9-5. This may be a “get right” spot for the Capitals, who have won four of the last six regular-season meetings. I am going to pass on both the side and total for this game and instead go with a Cheesecake Factory menu of player props.
The Capitals’ Ryan Leonard has had at least two shots on goal in all six games this season and in 19 of his last 20 regular-season games dating back to last season. His 2+ shots on goal prop is way too juicy, so it needs to be part of a parlay piece. Montreal’s Lane Hutson has 2+ shots on goal in five straight, and Cole Caufield has 3+ shots on goal versus Washington in seven of his last eight games against Washington. He also has 10 goals in 14 games versus the Caps and five goals in seven games against Capitals starting goalie Charlie Lindgren.
A couple of other goal props to be aware of. The Habs’ Nick Suzuki has 11 goals in 18 games versus Washington; Alexander Ovechkin has six goals in his last four games versus Montreal and three goals in three games on eight shots on Jakub Dobes, who starts in goal tonight for Montreal. Caps defenseman Jacob Chychrun has two goals in three games on six shots against Dobes. Center Dylan Strome has an assist in each of his six games against the Canadiens and seven of eight.
Lastly, I have not been able to find a shots on goal prop for the Capitals’ Boone Jenner. Jenner has had two shots on goal or more in all six games. But I will grab his anytime goal prop. Jenner has a goal in each of the last three games.
